All the talk about deal done, but has there been a definitive plan or anything? I read the article that stated "within 90 days from completion of deal" but it was not clear when those 90 days start.

The deal was announced and then it takes about a week for all the loose ends to be tied up. From then is when the 90 days start. Stars are working on it now, I would expect things to be no later than mid November.

Looks like a good bet

I am going to make a wild guess that the Gov. is going to withhold a percentage of your bankrolls if they exceed $600.00 as they would at the casinos. This would allow the gambler to file a tax return and pay taxes on their profits as one normally would if one indeed files taxes on online poker winnings. I would seriously doubt that they will refund without a tax id/ssn.

I'm thinking good thing I have more than a Buck and wont get taxed either,

I love all of the people here and on other forums who are pissing and moaning about the idea that the government will attempt to collect taxes on your poker winnings. Guess what, you should have been paying your taxes from the start. I disagree with the governments taxation policies but since it is the law and I don't want to end up in prison I do actually pay my taxes.

If you have been paying your taxes on your winnings as required by law and you have your tax returns which should be common sense then there is little reason to be concerned. If you have been committing tax evasion then I really don't see how you deserve any sympathy.

Last week, PPA shared the great news that the Justice Department approved the deal for PokerStars to purchase Full Tilt Poker. Through this deal, PokerStars provided funds to cover all player balances at Full Tilt Poker.

The DoJ is currently establishing the process by which we U.S. players will request and receive our money. PPA is at the forefront of advocating for our rights in this matter. PPA requested and was granted the opportunity by the DoJ to provide a recommended path for repayment of U.S. players. Needless to say, we asked for repayment of 100% of player balances. I hope everyone will take a moment to read this important letter to the DoJ (here).

PPA will continue this dialog with the DoJ. We are seeking a streamlined process for application for remission. We are also advocating for clear processes to address withdrawals that were deducted from balances but never sent, bounced withdrawal checks, unused tournament tokens, FTP points, Iron Man Medals, etc. Non-cash items will be toughest, but we will do our part to make the requests through the appropriate channels. PPA's legal team will remain fully involved as the ‘voice of the player’ to ensure we are all heard throughout this process.

The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 2 characters. lol

4. What happens to all the screen names for US players? Are they recycled? Will players be forced to use them again once you re-enter the US market?

- US players will still be able to log in and play for play money, so their account details won't be changing at all. That means all the Player IDs will be kept.

So i'd assume that we'd be able to see our account balances there.

Not so sure about that, our balances may be $0.

6. If I'm an American player and fail to apply with the DOJ for remission, will my Full Tilt account balance remain intact if the day comes when Full Tilt is able to operate in America?

- No, you have to go through the remission process.

Tell you what, PM me your address, I'll send you $1 American, and then ban your account so I never have to hear you ****ing whine over a buck again. Deal?

Just curious since he hasn't been back itt. Did he take the deal? Or, did he just disappear again (temporarily)? Can't wait to see if he ever gets his buck, and how much effort he'll put into it:D .

Not so sure about that, our balances may be $0.

That's what I'm thinking, since the DOIJ is supposedly paying us back, I'm sure OUR money will be moved from ftp books to DOIJ's.

Good read Charade. thanks for posting it.

Given that the DOJ has consistently viewed players as victims here I suspect that after some foot dragging they will do the right thing. Damn shame that its even open to discussion though.

would love to see thousands of americans swamping the DOJ for couple of cents each,
that would be funny and teach the bastards a lesson, costing them more to process the claims.

It doesn't cost the DOJ more, it costs the taxpayers more.

Not sure that's true. The Asset Forfeiture Fund is probably going to be paying out, which is not the taxpayers funds (it is partially OUR funds though, all those payment processor seizures and FTP assets seizures went into there.

Those funds never go into the general fund. The DOJ gets to keep them and spend them on whatever they want. (Wonder if those $16 donuts came from there?? prolly not, THAT probably was taxpayers' funds.)

After BF I deleted Full Tilt from my p.c and will definitely have to reload it.

Is CC going to have a Poker Sign-up Bonus on the

https://www.cardschat.com/poker-bonuses.php

page?

Hopefully there will be something like loyalty points, or rakeback or straight out cash inducements?
