- Assuming the current US laws don't change, the only way a US player would be able to redeem their points is if they move to a country that allows them to play on fulltiltpoker.com for real money. Once verified, they'd be able to make use of the points still in their account.

What? Did you somehow miss the title of this thread? Stars OWNS Full Tilt now and the US govt is on the hook to repay US players. Stars/New FTP has less than nothing to do with US players getting our $$s.

they have everything to do with it since they made the deal with them....thats whats wrong with country...people making money and not caring what happens after the deal is made ..as long as they get thier cut

Full Tilt will rectify all debts that they are allowed to pay (all RoW players) on the day they reopen. The US government WOULD NOT ALLOW FTP/Stars to repay the US player. The US Government collected a HUGE amount of $$s from Stars and supposedly will repay the US player themselves. If you can't understand that you I can't help you.

Why the hell would Stars wait for the US players to get paid, when they did the ONLY part that they could do for the US players. It's like a restaurant that was just taken over by new owners not reopening because the old owners were late on their car payments...

Why would I be biased toward RoW players? I've $7K tied up in this whole FTP mess and the sooner I get that $$ the better. But not allowing Stars to reopen FTP and repay the RoW players until the US govt gets me my money is ****ing stupid.

This is not only great news for many players who had money tied up in Full Tilt, but also great news for the future of US online poker. You see, we need credible actions from poker rooms, such as pokerstars to really help boost the perception of online poker. This will hopefully help to open the eyes of the US Government who still don’t seem to see the massive opportunity they are missing by not legalising online poker. Also, us players need some regulation to help us play in credible sites rather than in sites which are not regulated and put every penny in their pockets.

So what exactly would be the point in having a company that bailed out all former FTP players (RoW directly and US indirectly through a DoJ settlement) wait until US players are paid before they reopen? It's just amazingly stupid as far as I can see.

My understanding is that you can see your balance, you just can't withdraw. This was the response given when people asked how to apply for DOJ remittance if they didn't know their balance to the penny.

That sucks for a lot of players that don't know their exact balances. Unless the DOJ won't require you to quote it to the penny to claim it.
