It is a pity that some of the previous features will be missing but surely the priority had to be getting the site back up and running and giving everyone full access to their accounts including withdrawal. Before anyone jumps in I appreciate that this does not include the US players but I really hope that you all get your money back as soon as possible.

I like more Iron Man than Stars vips for sure, too bad is not returning.

Pretty much just waiting if rakeback will stay or not, if is not returning need to rethink the change to there.

That iron man to points line might be for the benefit of US players who are wondering whats happening with all that, plus it will make everyone in ROW start from scratch rather than have people half way through a promotional month or w/e.

I want to find out this as well, but didn't find the answer. If they are not going to offer rakeback anymore, they will need to improve a lot their VIP program.

Is anyone else kind of bummed out that the Iron Man system looks like it's finished? The Full Tilt front page Q&A says all Iron Man medals will be converted to player points when they reopen, as will any Full Tilt Academy points.

I guess they are probably going to be going with a more standard VIP kind of reward system instead. Iron Man was interesting because it rewarded not only volume but loyalty and perserverance.

Personally, I won't mind if they ditch Iron Man in favour of a "more standard" frequent player reward system. Having to fit in X games every single day just to maintain your level was a pain in the butt. If I could do it with a couple of big sessions a week it'd be much better IMO.

That said, I guess we just wait and see exactly what they come up with.

While it was sort of a pain to fit poker into my schedule on a daily basis, one of the things it did for me was to maintain an even keel and a continuous goal instead of having marathon sessions. I found that to be +ev for me, as I could keep better focus doing shorter sessions more often as opposed to one or two long sessions less frequently. The fact that you had to maintain your level or start from scratch was also a good motivator to keep grinding -- and the benefits really piled up well for those that had been doing Ironman for 2+ years.

Whether Ironman stays or becomes integrated into a more standard VIP system doesn't really matter to me that much as long as the rewards end up being fairly equivalent, but I think one of the things FTP had going for it over pokerstars was the unique angle on promotions and marketing it had. Things like the FTP Academy and Ironman were fun to keep track of and they had kind of a video-game sidequest feel to them which was very different in the way many other poker sites operated. I think PokerStars would do well to keep that sort of fun and casual aspect to Full Tilt while continuing to market PokerStars as more the hardcore site... thereby netting a wider overall player population by catering the two sites to different markets.

anyone else concerned that one corp now has control of the 2 biggest poker sites in world,as one who enjoys playing sometimes on smaller sites ,i fear many of these will now be squeezed out of existence.pokerstars is already doing it with there 120 freerolls a month per deposit,..

Players (non US) who don't live in France, Spain, Denmark, Estonia, Belgium, and Italy can either play or withdraw their funds.
Players in France, Spain, Denmark, Estonia and Belgium will be paid on PokerStars once they “pair” their PokerStars account with their Full Tilt account.
Players in Italy will have to wait until PokerStars strikes a deal with regulators.
In the United States, there is no news to report. The U.S. Department of Justice, which assumed all responsibility for repayment when it accepted $547 million from PokerStars, has not released any formal plan to pay back U.S. players. Like the Italians, the Americans will have to wait.
What’s most notable about this press release is the “pairing” of PokerStars and Full Tilt accounts in the countries with their own PokerStars servers. If PokerStars is capable of linking accounts in those countries, then they should be capable of linking them in other areas. This means that there could be intersite transfer, which would benefit many players who want to play in different tournaments or cash games. This is pure speculation, but it’s an easy connection to make.

Not really.

I think on the whole the good that is having someone rescue Full Tilt and put all those millions of dollars in Full Tilt player funds back into circulation in the poker economy outweighs the potential negatives.

With Stars now controlling the two biggest sites, you could even argue that there'll actually be less pressure on the smaller sites, as you won't have Full Tilt and Stars trying to outdo each other in the promo stakes any more. The loss of UB/AP will also help the smaller sites.

A new round of emails from FTP has gone out saying that all the old bonus promos and rakeback from old FTP are out and a new reward system is in place which will give weekly cash payments up to $2.50 for every 100 Full Tilt Points earned. The email follows in case anyone didn't get it:

Full Tilt Email said:
Hi xxxxxxxx,

We would like to share some pre-launch information with you about the changes planned to Full Tilt Poker’s existing loyalty program offering.

Full Tilt Poker will re-open on Tuesday, November 6th. On that day, a comprehensive player rewards program will be introduced, which will replace the Iron Man Challenge, Black Card and affiliate-paid rakeback programs.

The way in which players are rewarded will be greatly simplified, with eligible players receiving weekly cash payments. These payments will be based on the number of Full Tilt Points accumulated, at a rate of up to $2.50 for every 100 Full Tilt Points earned.

The weekly payments will differ from affiliate-paid rakeback in that the amounts you receive will not be reduced as a result of the various marketing costs you incur (for example, if you spend points in the Full Tilt Store) or other fees.

We will send you more information on the introduction of our new player rewards program, and on the transition of players from the Iron Man Challenge and Black Card programs, on Tuesday, November 6th. If you are eligible to receive the 2011 Iron Man Mid-Year Bonus, it will be credited to your account upon re-launch.

We look forward to welcoming you back to Full Tilt Poker.

Full Tilt Poker

I love the irony of them opening up on election day. Nice slap in the face to the USA players who want to play online poker:viking:

Saw an ad, I think on the NFL Network, last night. The Rush is back was the theme.

Hasn't NFL been against online poker? I think those are some old clips of Jesus Fergie Ferg pushing chips in. Can't be sure. 6/11/12 how unamerican for November 6 but it aired on the USA NFL Network?
