Ak is a hard hand to play. I think you either hit with the flop or not. I always bet big pre-flop with this hand

If you're sure the other person has a pair but it could be any pair, it'll be AA or KK about 15% of the time, in which case, you're a major dog. The rest of the time, it'll be a coin flip. So, if you think the odds of the opponent folding if you raise, plus the chances of him / her actually holding less than a pair are 15% or more, that puts you even money or favored to win the hand.

If you're sure the other person has a apir then why would you stay in? A-K looks nice but it sure doesn't beat a pair of dueces
