20+ year player. I enjoy both so no reason not to do both. When I'm playing a lot and grinding....I'm definition of grinding isn't the same as regs definition as I'm only a rec/hobby player. My schedule is or would be as follows:
1) Week days are for cash full-ring.
2) MTT's I save for weekends because that's when the highest GTD's are and I like longer blind level MTT's. I only have that kind a time on weekends(rarely time thru the week).
3) Monday's sometimes Tuesdays I'm studying and doing hand reviews.
Some guys I'm sure will be a bit more aggressive shot-taking and trying to move up. Nothing wrong with that long as ones comfortable doing that. I've done it in the past. As a newer thought I'd stick pretty close to my numbers. At least till you have some experience, find out where you're skill level is and what you're comfortable with losing/
gambling. Everyone is different.
Here's how I'd start. I'd deposit $50-$100. Start at 2nl full-ring cash. When I had $200-$250 and I'm comfortable and beating 2nl I'd then move up too 5nl full-ring. The next step is when you make $500 and are comfortable beating 5nl. Once you got that $500
bankroll now I'd start playing $3-$5 MTT's on the weekends. I'd stay playing 10nl full-ring cash during the week.
Also why you're growing your bankroll at the start playing 2nl(if this is the way you decide to go) be studying for MTT's so you're ready when/if you reach $500.
This fits my schedule, games I like to play and am good at.
Cheers!!!
