That last one was a special credit from me, because of your idea for the contest. But it doesn't qualify for starting a casino thread discussion for Scav Hunt.
Yes I did not include it in the 3 screenies above

It took over a day for this to appear in my VIP tracker, it was the last item I needed.

Congrats to our top four finishers!

$100 + $25 Bonus @BillyR23 completed all items first!
$75 @acidburnfx coming in 2nd
$50 @maronza1 3rd place
$25 @gravii2011 4th place

How to Claim Your Prize

The Hunt is Not Over!
We will hold a bonus drawing for a CardsChat t-shirt amongst those members finishing outside of the top four. Keep collecting items between now and September 29 to give yourself more chances to win!

Here's how it will work:

 • ALL Scavenger Hunt Tasks Completed: 5 Entries
 • 50% or More Completed: 2 entries
 • Less than 50% Completed: 1 entry
 • This drawing excludes the four cash winners above.
I will make a list of cash winners and entrants at the beginning of the thread, and will link this post there, as well as link the tracking post.

View t-shirt entries here: https://www.cardschat.com/forum/gen...ger-hunt-special-tick-off-552473/post-7200919

This was a game with most obscure rules I have seen so far on this site.

I congratulate the winner for the well deserved 1st place. Good job.

But I do not agree with your decisions for 2nd, 3rd and 4th place. In light of the rules they make no sense.

The prize section of the rules clearly determines how these prizes should be given and I see no room for different kind of interpretation.
Prizes 🏆
Prizes awarded based on who has the most items ticked off at the close of the contest. (In the event of a tie, the winner will be determined by the timestamp of the entry submitted)

$100 for most items completed
$75 second most items
$50 third most items
$25 fourth most items
Meaning: Who ever gets all the items first gets the 1st place and the bonus.
It also means that others who have also gathered all the items get unfortunately nothing.

Second place should be determined only among those who have collected one item less than the full package.
The rules do not give room for the interpretation that the second place belongs to a player who has gathered fastest his/her second most item but then continued to get also the last one. Because by definition that player does not belong to the group with players who have only second most amount of items collected.

And the same goes for 3rd and 4th places.

No-one said we shouldn't play smart.

Thanks CardsChat for the competition <3 and congrats to all the winners (y)

Even if we leave the prizes aside(so much extra value 💸💸💸 ), I've learned a lot about different casino games during this 3-4 weeks and I'm grateful for it as for sure this will improve my chances to win in the casino...

GLGL all :)

And to continue with my previous note...
Even if we went with the direction you have now taken, still those who had collected only 2nd, 3rd and 4th most items should not be excluded when deciding who gets to win those positions.

So for example, second place should not had been determined only among those who had all items collected especially if any player who in reality had second most items was actually faster. And as such the fastest to reach the second place might had been YLAN.
Or maybe a player who had the second most items collected was actually fastest to reach the 3rd or 4th place, that should also count.

I don't care about the outcome but I am stickler for the rules.

Decisions have been made, so congrats to those people.

I would have been finished a lot earlier (5 days) than I did if I had not had to get @Marcwantstowin to fix issues with items not showing up in my VIP tracker.

I've been busy with other things that were timely and needing my attention, so had not been able to properly read and address your post(s). But having done so now, I'm failing to see the issue.

It was a tight race to the finish. So yes, those who completed the tasks in succession after the 1st finisher would naturally take 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. The promo was originally set to run through the end of the month, but once 1st-4th were satisfied (by virtue of completing the tasks), that's the end of that part of the hunt. Had no one else completed all the tasks by month end, then it would have went 2nd to the most completed, 3rd after that, and so on at the close of the month. But instead, others finished in succession, as I've said. Since it ended early, I am also giving a merch drawing for a little something for those who may want to continue hunting, and those who put in a good effort.

I'm failing to see the issue.

If you don't see the issue after my clear explanation then so be it. In my view you walked over your own rules.
If things were to be ruled as they were then the wording should have been more clear and different.
Next time I'll be wiser and restrain myself from taking part in such a futile, and labor intensive task.

Tero, I've completed all the tasks Tuesday, but they haven't been ticked till today (Thursday) and was also surprised to see the results posted yesterday, but Tammy had clearly stated that in case of a tie, the timestamp would be considered:

 • In the event of a tie, we will go by the timestamp of the posts in question.
 • If the timestamps for the posts in question are the same, we will go by the order of which post is displayed first in the forum thread.
So, let's be good sports. When an event is over, it's over. And there's even a good gesture that wasn't expected.

Hi Tero, competitions like this are always judged the way that Tammy explained, but, I can only see your point if you deliberately stopped collecting items, thinking that you had locked in 2nd place after you had seen that Billy had locked in 1st place. Is that what happened?

Thank you @Zorba for seeing my point.

That is exactly what I did.

But that is only part of the story...

After having second most items collected I received a message from SpecialEvents saying I am missing only one item. To which I replied, and I quote myself

"...since others already have all items collected I see no reason to add my final entry. Hopefully I was the fastest to the second place."

My view of the matter was not corrected even though there still was time to get inside the final four.

But that was not the only blunder...

***********

On Monday one of the tasks was originally worded like this:

One of your admins lives in California. Find the California State Flag on the CSUS website. Message @Special Events

Now what the heck was CSUS?
But as a good soldier I don't question the orders no matter how strange they might sound, I follow them. And you know what? There actually is a CSUS website that belongs to California State University. And you wouldn't believe how hard it was to find that flag from a place where (in retrospect) I wasn't even supposed to look. But I found it. And I dare anyone to do the same.

The next day this line:
One of your admins lives in California. Find the California State Flag on the CSUS website. Message @Special Events

was changed into this:
One of your admins lives in California. Find the California State Flag on the website. Message @Special Events

When I confronted them after changing the line they brushed it off simply as a typo and said:

It was a typo, as you noticed it is proceeded by all items should be found on casino.us.

Well then, if it was supposed to be so clear that all items should be collected from casino.us then why mention the site name (CSUS) at all?

But the soldier I am I took that as an exception to the rule. And at the time, time was the essence and there was no-one to ask for clarifications.

As I have understood from a private discussion I was not the only one who was confused about CSUS.
And I also point out that this was the first time that I've seen that casino.us is referred as CSUS or with any other abbreviation for that matter which made it even more unclear.

If I hadn't been sent to a wild goose chase to CSUS would I had been the fastest to reach the first or second place?
I believe I would since I was present from the get-go.

***************

The wordings

It would have been so simple to make the wording clear and understandable.

It should have said:
Prizes awarded between the four fastest competitors who collect all the items. (In the event of a tie, the winner will be determined by the timestamp of the entry submitted)

$100 for first
$75 for second
$50 for third
$25 for fourth

But this:
$100 for most items completed
$75 second most items
$50 third most items
$25 fourth most items

gives it a whole different meaning.

****************

Was I good sport? H**l yeah. I have been nothing but a good sport during my (close to six years) time here. I even helped maronza in this race when he had a hard time understanding some things.

But as I said, I am done with these labor intensive tasks. I won't waste my energy in the future deciphering what is actually written and what is meant by it.

And to add a final thought...

Admins are not always right. They are only humans and make mistakes too. But one can either own one's mistakes or ignore them - that is the difference.

I agree the wording could have been better. But those who finished behind Billy are the ones who also got the "next most" items.

The other stuff you mentioned here I had explained to you - the CSUS was a typo (my fault - I was trying to make an acronym out of Casino.us, should have left it out), but also in that same post, it clearly states that all items would be found in either free games or pages on Casino.us.

I have nothing more to add to this except what I have already said in the thread. You've made your case, and I respect your opinion, but stand by our rulings. I'm afraid we will have to be at an impasse on this one - this is my/our final word on it here in the thread, as there is still open competition for those who would like to increase their chances for the t-shirt drawing.

Bumping this:

For now, we're just listing those who have completed the tasks, but will update the list on Sept. 30. So what you see there is not a complete drawing list yet.

Honestly, I wasted more than 2 hours searching on California State University site till I found a California flag, that was Monday, and ofc Special Events answered (The following day) that it wasn't correct. So, Tero, you see that I could've gotten all the answers before everyone else since I had everything ticked at that point, but mistakes do happen.

Some people are smarter than others, that's what makes the difference.

Nevertheless, the results would've been definitely different if the "questions" were clearer and the "Special Events" was prompter, but like I said, we all make mistakes, let alone if we consider what Tammy is going through this September.

All in all, we're all friends here and we also should keep in mind that all these events are free...
