The fact that its not even cancelled but only on a break makes it even more funny.Funny to see so many people complaining about this, when in reality they likely never actually played this tournament, or at least did not play it on anything resembling a regular basis![]()
Yeah if I was a recreational player and wanted to play the Sunday Million, I think, I could wait, until the summer vacation is over. I would likely not want to do this anyway, while I was on the beach somewhere with my family myself, as a lot of people are right now. And if I really missed to play some poker, the $75 400k guaranty event tonight could probably work as a decent replacementThe fact that its not even cancelled but only on a break makes it even more funny.
Wow... that's a strange decision... I wonder how they explain it.
I think this is another step towards the end of this site's activity. It lost its leadership position a long time ago, and its future looks rather bleak. While other sites are developing, pokerstars is only deteriorating thanks to its ‘wonderful’ management.Another nail in the coffin for PS .
They replaced the Sunday Million by a so called Sunday Special , 400K gtd , 75$ buy in .
They failed to change the logo but it's definetly gone.
Another step to mediocrity in my opinion...
What do you think about it ?
Are you really saying players grinding freerolls do not regularly play a $109 MTT? That's unbelievable to me. 😂Funny to see so many people complaining about this, when in reality they likely never actually played this tournament, or at least did not play it on anything resembling a regular basis![]()
Exactly. Just a shame, that activity and game selection is constantly declining, and that most of the 1 table SnGs are overly raked after the changes, they made last year. But the 9-45 mans and 18-mans are still decent offerings.I do like Pokerstars for having SNGs as well with 1 to 5 tables. For people like me who don't have several hours to play in a massive MTT with 1k+ players.
You ARE a recreational player genius.Yeah if I was a recreational player and wanted to play the Sunday Million, I think, I could wait, until the summer vacation is over. I dont make a living from poker, but I play mostly for profit. So I consider myself a for profit player but of course not a professional. You ARE a recreational player genius. You don't make living with poker do you ?
Why do you even care? If I understand it correctly, you stopped playing on PokerStars years ago, because its such a terrible site? For me I dont care, because a $109 MTT is outside my bankroll, and I dont play any slow MTTs in the evening, because I give priority to my sleep. But it's good to hear the Milly isn't gone for good
Also winning players are recreational playersI dont make a living from poker, but I play mostly for profit.

If any activity in leisure time (assuming someone have a regular full time job) is to be defined as recreational, then that would also include running some kind of small personal business like designing web pages for other people and getting paid to do so. According to Google AI:Also winning players are recreational players
They key term here is , activity in leisure time.
how do you still have that ticket from 2012 ?!I hope SM hasn't disappeared forever, because I still have one ticket valid until 2030.

I actually got that too. From 2016 or something, it just stays there forever even tho there is no use for it.how do you still have that ticket from 2012 ?!
yea i had 1 too..but it dissapeared years ago with a software update i think..I actually got that too. From 2016 or something, it just stays there forever even tho there is no use for it.
I suppose there's an argument for that yes.If any activity in leisure time (assuming someone have a regular full time job) is to be defined as recreational, then that would also include running some kind of small personal business like designing web pages for other people and getting paid to do so. According to Google AI:
"A recreational poker player is someone who plays poker primarily for fun and entertainment, rather than as a primary source of income. They typically have a more casual approach to the game, may be less experienced, and don't rely on poker as a means of financial support. Their main goal is to enjoy the game and socialize, rather than maximizing their winnings."
For me this makes much more sense than claiming, anything is a recreational activity, unless you rely 100% on it for making a living, and I would put special emphasis on the words "primarily for fun and entertainment" as well as "casual approach".
Why since 2012? This ticket was received in January of this year, and you looked at the wrong line in the photo.. The SM ticket is highlighted with a green dothow do you still have that ticket from 2012 ?!
Yes I agree with that. Not all recreational players are completely clueless. And the player in my example, who dont play tournaments every day but want to play the best (Sunday Million), when they finally do, is probably a fairly decent player on average. In a sense you fit the definition also, since you dont often play on Pokerstars but sometimes try to satellite into Sunday Million. It's just that the term recreational player is often used as a synonym for immature player which is just incorrect.
This I still do not agree with. If I see the same people in my games all the time, especially SnGs and cash games, then to me they are regulars and not recreational, and it really does not matter, if poker is their main source of income or not. It might be but I have no way of knowing this. Maybe a pension is their main source of income, and this is why, they have time to play so much. You can be an experienced player, focusing on maximizing your winnings and technically you still are a recreational player as long as this isn't your main source of income.

Ok, guys , thanks for warnings and I remember now seeing something like thisCaution!!
I just read a topic here at CC that they have changed rules. Now Tournament tickets are valid for just 1 year, even showing that it's valid until 2030. I tried to find the topic but I couldn't, but take care not to lose your ticket!
