Is it possible to enjoy the game in the long term when it becomes a job?

If you like your job or hobby, it will bring you joy even after many years.

I don’t think about the money when I play. I play for fun. When I win money it’s a nice bonus, I’m not a gambler, I’m a card player.

It's all on mentality, if life isn't in the right place. Then most things lose enjoyment. Stay well in life and hopefully you won't lose enjoyment.

I don't think so. I once played for 7 hours straight. Made a good profit and all but later I just got tired. And started thinking poker is boring.

Poker is not my job but I crave for it if I don't play .
Thank you for answering. I have a question. Have you ever considered that to be your job? or because you like it but haven't decided to make it a profession?

I think motivation only persists if it's profitable, otherwise, for me, the game loses its meaning. So I'd rather do something else.

Find a hobby that you love and that will make you profitable, and you won't have to work a day in your life
Thank you very much for answering, very wise words, have you considered poker in that way to professionalize it? or have you applied it to other things? respects

Thank you very much for answering. In your case you have made it possible that is why you tell me that it is possible? and in that case how did you achieve it? What things do you consider to be key to achieving it? thanks and total successes!

If you love the game and it becomes your main source of income, then what could be better? You will earn money doing what you love. Or if you don't love the game enough, then what's the point of turning it into a job?
yes big words, thank you for answer!

yea.

I think the high (functionally infinite) skill ceiling is most of the reason it's still fun. I don't think I'm "doing" anything to keep it fun other than trying to genuinely improve.

The fascinating thing about this game is precisely this: there's no way to lose motivation, because we always have the opportunity to learn something, whether related to the game or our mindset...
And since the games and challenges are daily and constant, this means that every day, we can begin our journey, of course, taking into account bankroll management, tournament management, websites, and everything that involves a well-structured gaming session.

No matter how many down swings we experience, bad beats, the game still continues, and since nothing is eternal, everything passes. It's a matter of being persevering... and resilient...

I think that when it becomes a job it is when you will enjoy it the most.

I think it really depends on the person. For some players, turning poker into a job can take away some of the fun because of the pressure to win consistently. For others, the challenge and freedom of playing professionally makes them enjoy it even more. The key is finding a balance between passion and discipline.

I think it’s hard not to lose some interest in poker once it turns into a daily routine and feels like a job. If you don’t have another main profession and also have family responsibilities, it can be tough to keep the same passion for years. As a form of recreation though, like an alternative to video games and maybe a small side income, poker can stay enjoyable much longer. Balance seems to be the key.

Yes, I suppose it depends on how you view it. It was a bit difficult at the beginning, because I had different types of responsibilities. After some time I started to enjoy it again.

The freedom is a huge pro, but the pressure to win is a big con. It's a completely different game when it pays the bills.

For me: Yes and No.

As long as the games were easy and you could earn some pretty good money playing full-time, it was fun most of the time.

When you had to play almost a full working day just to earn around 1000 dollars a month, it was no longer fun to spend so much time for so little money, so I quit playing online to earn money.
Oh, wow, understand, thank you, yes the cash is a motivation, is how the expectative value if you win more is more probably what you are most winner! thanks for answer my post!

It is optimal to play 1-1.5 hours a day. Otherwise, as it happens with any addiction, tolerance to the pleasure of the game arises, and the longer you play, the more difficult it becomes to achieve it. If you play 1-1.5 hours, you will be able, firstly, to normally penetrate and immerse yourself in the game, because you will not have time to get tired in the moment, and secondly, you will not be ashamed of the fact that you spend all your time playing games. For fans of grinding and quick results: whether to replace life with games is your personal business, here I am talking about the pleasure of the game, and not about progress and results.
wow man! amazing answer! thank you for your words!
