Hey guys,

I was curious about something and thought I’d bring it up here as a discussion. How much time do you usually spend on poker every day? Do you focus mostly on playing, or do you also dedicate a lot of hours to studyin

For me personally, poker has become a big part of my daily routine. I usually spend around 3–4 hours actually playing and then another 3–4 hours studying. It’s almost like a full-time job at this point, but I don’t see it as a burden—it’s something I really enjoy and want to get better a

My Playing Routine

When I sit down to play, I try to make it as structured as possible. I focus on online tournaments, especially MTTs and Sit & Gos. A single session lasts about 3–4 hours, and during that time, I try to stay fully concentrated. I avoid distractions, put on some calm music, and treat it like serious wor

I also make sure to review my mindset before I start. Am I tired? Am I tilted from something else? I’ve noticed that my results are much better when I approach the game with a clear head. Even though the games can be stressful, I enjoy the challenge—it’s like training my brain under pressur

My Study Routine

After playing, I usually switch gears and focus on study. This takes another 3–4 hours, depending on the day. I go through hand histories, review mistakes, and compare my decisions with solvers or charts. I also like to watch training videos, read articles, or sometimes just discuss hands with friend

The study part is tough but rewarding. Playing gives me practice, but studying gives me understanding. Without the study part, I feel like I’d just repeat the same mistake

Balance

Of course, it’s not always easy. Spending 6–8 hours on poker-related activities every day can be mentally exhausting. But I believe consistency is key. Even if I don’t see huge improvements day to day, over weeks and months I notice the progres

Question for You

So that’s my routine: about 3–4 hours playing and 3–4 hours studying daily. What about you guy

Really curious to hear how others approach this!

Great routine you’ve got there! 👏 I usually spend around 2–3 hours a day on poker, mostly playing. I study less than I probably should, but I do try to review key hands after sessions. Balance definitely matters—I’ve found that too much play without study leads to repeating mistakes, and too much study without play makes it hard to apply what I’ve learned.

So that’s my routine: about 3–4 hours playing and 3–4 hours studying daily.
I hope you are a professional poker player and earn a lot of money. Otherwise, I would recommend getting a job.

I study for maybe one hour a week. I play for 2-3 hours a day while working on other online tasks.

Internet Marketing of some kind. It should pay more than poker if you put 8 hours of work every day into it.

For a little extra money, with very little time required, I also recommend Matched Betting if you can clear bonuses for Sports Betting and have access to a betting exchange site.

I spend all my free time playing poker because poker is my main source of income at this stage of my life. That's why I'm 100% motivated in every tournament, as I understand that my survival depends on a final result. :(

At the beginning of my poker career, I played at least three small and medium stakes tournaments every day, but over time I have reduced them due to the fact that it seems to me that artificial intelligence has entered online poker a lot. I still play a few times a week, sometimes in a freeroll or a small stakes tournament.

I play one or two days per week, together about 6-7 hours. That means I play about 1 hour per day. My favourits are freerolls holdem nl, omaha and omaha h/l. Sometimes I play sit and gos of this games, with bzyins under $10.

Just game, 4-5 hours. Another couple hours studying.

Sometimes I "take the day off"

I play for a couple of hours, and that's all, I don't study poker, I think it's a waste of time, I don't know what to study, it's better to play with your intuition.

I usually spend around a few hours daily on poker, but I try to keep the balance between playing and studying hands. For me it’s not just about putting in volume, it’s about making sure the time spent is focused and productive. That way even shorter sessions feel valuable.

I used to spend many hours playing but as I get older I play maybe an hour or two
playing every day, just play when I want, I play micro stakes-always have- so I play for
enjoyment not for profit.

In the past, I used to play up to 8-10 hours a day on several platforms simultaneously. Practically anything I thought could bring me profit. As time went on and I gained experience, I began to choose the type of game and the time I played. Currently, I play an average of 5-6 hours a day, mainly DoN Sit & Go tournaments, Freezout MTTs, and cash games.

Hello everyone, the truth is that there are times when I am a little frustrated that I cannot dedicate as much time as I want to poker, since I want to become a poker professional and be able to live on it as most people want, or well, some people do want nothing more than spending time with him, not the game, but I am interested in becoming a poker professional and being a reference for my country in the same country, however, I am a much older person, I am 42 years old and I am a dad and I work, which makes me a little complicated because I don't have that time. available as I would like to give you then the short time I have or how I internalize daily between what I manage to study, I manage to review and what I play, I try to put between 8 and 12 tournaments a day, I would like it to be more, but the truth is that there is something that bothers me and that is the fact that I can't play it 100% concentrated, I always do it while working and I know that it's not optimal, I can't measure myself many times, I don't see my hands well or I don't analyze the game well, I don't analyze the table and make hasty decisions, so I don't hope to be able to improve little by little Little and y is somewhat complicated with people who already have a lot of things in their day, because I am going to continue studying, learning very well, very well, each of the levels I have at the school where I am currently at and see how I am climbing and once I already feel that I am profitable enough to dedicate myself 100% to poker, I am independent of work, of course not, and I hope it will not take many years of course when I don't understand a topic of what they are explaining and I listen to it several times several times I am very excited to understand it later Perhaps having listened to it a couple of times and knowing that my reasoning is not that far from what the teachers explain and that gives me a somewhat automatic direction, however, I feel that I must analyze and keep in mind because the whole topic of the tables is more profound, the whole subject of the play, the whole subject of hand analysis, adversarial analysis and it is something that I know that at present I am taking it very lightly or very superficial than I would like greetings.
