Let's Flip it for $62 AIPF, can we W?

symkalaila (UTG): $25.00 (100 bb)
IHateA14 (MP): $33.30 (133 bb)
AllergiKtoNutS (CO): $99.93 (400 bb)
blamemybrain (BU): $29.49 (118 bb)
Sorininho (SB): $30.99 (124 bb)
marvinsytan (BB): $34.39 (138 bb)

Pre-Flop:
($0.35) Hero (marvinsytan) is BB with Q Q
3 players fold, blamemybrain (BU) raises to $0.57, Sorininho (SB) 3-bets to $2.50, marvinsytan (BB) 4-bets to $5.25, 1 fold, Sorininho (SB) 5-bets to $30.99 (all-in), marvinsytan (BB) calls $25.74

Flop:
($62.55) T 9 J (2 players, 1 all-in)

Turn: ($62.55) J (2 players, 1 all-in)

River: ($62.55) J (2 players, 1 all-in)

Total pot: $62.55 (Rake: $2)

Showdown:
Sorininho (SB) shows A K (three of a kind, Jacks)
(Equity - Pre-Flop: 47%, Flop: 16%, Turn: 7%, River: 0%)

marvinsytan (BB) shows Q Q (a full house, Jacks full of Queens)
(Equity - Pre-Flop: 53%, Flop: 84%, Turn: 93%, River: 100%)

marvinsytan (BB) wins $60.55
Which means you lose a little in the long run because this is a thick deep stacked pot. Okay, we are flipping, we will win 3% of times more than villain if we do play millions of hands equally:

Poker Odds Calculator from www.cardschat.com
Texas Hold'em:
Player 1( :qh4: :qs4: ): 53.78% lose 45.85% tie 0.37% EV 0.54

a) consider we are slightly deep stacked

b) consider the rake

c) as long as we are not machines tabling 20 tables at once 24/7 we are not playing millions of hands to get to the ideal/mathematical breakeven point.

Conclusion:

In fact, as you stated, we are in fact flipping 50/50 and considering the rake for this big pot, it’s a bold and dangerous move in the long run.
This is one of the reasons (call me a fish) that I don’t like to 4-bet TT, JJ and QQ preflop, for it villain moves all-in, we have to forcibly go to flip in the best case scenario.
Not saying your 4-bet preflop is wrong, we like to 4-bet more and when we are deep stacked, even better: but when villain 5-bets I think we could consider folding: this is the sole reason that when we 4-bet, we never commit more than 30% of our stack, which give us room to fold to reaction.
In this specific case, you have made a 4-bet that had committed only 21 BB of your stack, and deep stack you committed less than 18% of your stack, so you had plenty of room to fold.
If we are going to flip for some reason, let it be versus a player that we know is jamming more hands than it should and having only 100 blinds effective.
I feel glad that you are winning and beating NLHE 25, and I want you to beat NLHE 100 and NLHE 200 and also crack the first place in the Sunday Million! I’m praying to you and as you said, you are opened to criticism.
In the beginning I thought that this hand was standard and there was nothing to comment. But then I reflected a couple of days over it, made some researches and decided to post. Not hoping you like or agree, or take it under consideration.
But I think it’s good to read something that is not that “standard” every time.

Best regards;

marvinsytan (SB) bets $19.92 (all-in), Seda Muidugi (BB) calls $19.38 (all-in)

marvinsytan (SB) wins $50.78
This hand was standard and well played by both players. I liked you bet on the river because it could get calls from other hands. Villain might enter into some crazy leveling ideas and wonder:

“why is he jamming river if he had completed his flush? Why would Hero turn his flush into a bluff??? I think Hero is bluffing and I will call”.

It was not the case because villain had the second nut flush and it was almost impossible for it to fold. But other cases villains might get into this crazy meta-thinking and do the wrong call, so this is the reason I liked your river jam.

as always appreciated your analysis, it is very well thought and time consuming, thank you so much and I also learned a lot coz it does makes sense

QQ and AK is always a cold 4-bet for me regardless of opp stats for value and fold equity GTO style for me, repetition means less mistake , TT and JJ is most of the time call 3-bet but sometimes 4-bet btn v aggro blinds 3-bettor for value and fold equity

if I have AK on that spot I'm folding to 5-bet Jam but QQ is a call for me coz I don't want to lose my equity in the pot and will be always be ahead of AK

thank you for including me in your prayers, this is the best someone can give to a person, you made me happy

and I want to make you happy also so I'm sending you a smile :) Cheers my friend

Well played. Villain is a fish and raised small preflop providing good odds to us. On the turn fish shows weakness and we capitalized it our float ending with a river bet.

I think the hand was played fine. Just one little thing: on the river I would have gone for more if I had any combos of spades. Anyway, we’ve given some odds for villain to call with two pairs and sets, I don’t think it would be scared of the flush when we bet a relatively medium size. Overall it was well played.
If you had info that your villain is a regular you could’ve polarized flop and turn to make a jam on the river, creating such a strong fold equity spot where he could’ve ended folding his two pair. But it was okay, let’s move on!

Completely fine hand. By checking on the turn villain entered into some crazy leveling thinking that our check OTT meant weakness when in fact it was for pot control. Fish bets small OTR, we have odds and let the chips fall as they may! 😄

Very good move going all-in on the river for many players will find impossible to call it unless they have the nuts. We played our bluffs as if we had a strong range from EP and our river jam speaks for itself.
Most likely BB had nothing, this is why it folded. I like to play like you did more versus clever and thinking opponents (regulars) for they will have a reading over my moves and tend to fold more often than fishes, like this one you faced.

This flop raise is awkward: it’s a very dry texture where villain doesn’t hold many bluffs, but is full of values. I don’t think villain had 99, because it would be nonsensical to raise the nuts in this flop configuration, but who knows these fishes?
I’m putting BB more on hands like A3, K3, Q3, T3, 93 (LOL) all suited.
On the turn we are not liking a bit villain chosen sizing, and personally I would be folding here 50% of times. Nothing relevant had completed, we have range advantage and villain insists on inflating the pot. When I call on the turn I call it very sad.
On the river our room is over: villain is expecting to get paid by TT+ but we are smarter than that and we fold.

Okay, we tried to bluff from the SB and villain raised OTR, leaving no other option but to fold. Well played, we don’t want our bluffs passing a 100% of times, right?
We are playing balanced and aggressively, so we have to worry about nothing. But villain would worry a lot for they will never know if we are with the goods or bluffing! 😄

But it was okay, let’s move on!
don't want to bleff big, 50% bet on river is just enuff to make him fold if he wants to fold much more it's a triple barrel

i think the moment opp decides to call 75-100% pot he is going to call no need to give him more money for his bleff catching

This hand I wouldn’t have donk flop. But villain is a broken stack and no problem. Well, no complicated hands to analyze, first you got the nuts with quads, then you triple barrel bluff and it passes, if it doesn’t not problem, and versus this fish you gotta full house!
Thank God the ATM is opened 24/7!! :ROFLMAO:
Congrats mate!

when you have a big hand when you are out of position and just called a raise pre, try to donk bet small so that your opp will put you on a weak hand and you can make your opp make a mistake just like this

bec the normal thing to do is wait for a c-bet then re-raise which will look so much stronger
