Staying alive is great strategy if you have all the time to be patient, wait for cards, for a long run. If you know you don't have time to wait forever, playing more sub-optimal hands is reasonable, if you catch on a marginal hand, it can change your stack so you can adjust for a longer run.

First I try to survive until the awards stage and then I try to be a little more aggressive in the final stretch

The larger the prize, the more valuable the victory.

I think the most important thing is to get the first places, that's where there are the most big prizes.

Many poker players say that we often have to get to ITM, and then risk more in the game, there are some factors that we must observe in this strategy.
If we are not going to risk our chips, we run the risk that they will end before we even get to ITM, I believe that when we enter a tournament we must play hard and without fear that the chips will end, the main objective will be to have an extra strategy not to play, We need to play with caution, but firmly to gradually raise our stacks of chips so that we can deal with the players who have the most chips when they enter ITM
I agree with you, but I think that other professional players who say this (say that we often have to get to ITM, and then risk more in the game) say it because of the experiences they have had and how profitable they were with it, there really are some factors to take into consideration when applying this strategy, if we want to build chips it will be necessary to play, yes, but play wisely and with planning, the strategy itself works if it is well applied I think

Strategy is one life doing its thing. You always have to play to win, but the variation is relentless.
