Is it better to play more tables for experience or focus on just one?

Hi everyone!

I’ve been thinking about this question: what’s better for improving in tournament poker — playing many tables at once to “get more reps” and gain experience faster, or focusing on just 1–2 tournaments to really dive into each situation?

On the one hand, multi-tabling helps you go through more spots quickly and not get too attached to a single tournament. But on the other hand, when you play fewer tables, you can pay more attention to opponents’ actions, plan hands more carefully, and practice reading situations.

What do you think is more effective for long-term growth?
And how did you personally train when you first started playing tournaments?

If you want to have an experience, the more tables the better, but if you want to be number one or get good grades, you should only have one table.

You have to find a balance, play enough tables to make a good volume of hands but without losing the action in the tables.

It's better to start with 2 tables and start adding tables 1 by 1 until you feel confident you're making the correct decisions and no rushing.

It is easier to focus on one table, more tables splits the focus. When you get bored playing one table more tables is the solution.I recommend maximum three at once.

Start with one table to build focus and skills; add more tables only once you feel confident

When you start focusing on what's on tv, or the music, or texting with your 5 or 6 besties, probably time to add a table or 2.
