How do I manage to maintain my high position?

I always manage to reach the chip leader, but I almost always leave without reaching the bubbles. I often stay in the lead for almost an hour, but miraculously, I see that I have no more sckill left.

What strategy makes you the chip leader?
If your strategy is a game with all kinds of junk, and everything boils down to luck, then there is nothing surprising in the fact that later you lose everything. I often see players who take unnecessary risks, become chip leaders, but then lose everything because, in fact, their entire game strategy boils down to chance and luck.

In my opinion you should explore the table you are at. If it's a passive table, you must be active. If, on the contrary, it's a table where the players are more aggressive, you should choose your hands better.

When you got stack or did well to reach chip leader, your game should be more or less easier then the rest of the players with smaller stacks. Just try to put pressure with 3bet/fold in possition and try to not risk it to ofthen. Just follow stack ratio and pot odds in any case and you should be good.

It is impossible to say without really knowing a player as to why they have an issue. I will give a general response to what I see when playing against other who get and often are chip leaders early. Many of these players are way over aggressive and want every pot to go to them when there in the had and use the chips to bully them. While this is not a bad idea to use your chips to your advantage its the fact they go over board doing this. Every chance they have and see a player with 20BB or more raise they jam for max pressure and may do this 2, 3 or even 4 times per orbit. Another issue is seeing them use the flop to push players. I saw this one the other day. Player raised 2.25X of a 40+ BB stack and this guy called. Flop was 752 rainbow and he jammed all in. Yes players will fold to this but there are a lot of pairs that call. FYI player called with aces and this clown pushed 96 off for nearly 50BB . Sure you dont play this way but it gives you and idea.

- What mistakes did you find yourself that lead to your decline from chip leader to not reaching the bubble? Too aggressive? Too passive?
- Do you become overconfident and suffer from positive tilt?

Etc.

F.e. Being too aggressive can lead to a quick decline in chips, but you do need to find a balance between exploiting your big stack vs. not handing out free chips. Being too passive and blinding out is a no-no aswell, you should still look to mantain your stack along the blinds structure.

I play like a book 😀 until I see that my position is threatened, which of course I don't want to leave it, then the decline begins, I fall back and I have the impression that I will manage to get up again, I do more aggressive than at the beginning of the tournament and expose myself dangerously, sometimes being fatal to me. I don't feel comfortable under position 3😟 the prize after that position is consolation😀.

I lost that $10 without getting higher than 3rd place, I think I'm going to beat myself up today.

many people will say that you are playing for good luck and raising your chip leader stack, but this is not the case in order to raise your chips you need to be able to play so you know how to play for sure, hold or increase your stack even more, it's not always up to you because the game can give you cards that you can't throw away and now your chips have been transferred to another player, this happens I think you just don't have enough patience and you're in a hurry when you have a lot of chips and you feel that you have already won them all although this is not the case and this is your main mistake excessive feeling of winning if you remove this and continue playing as you played, then the victories will be yours, this is the problem I had before

In that case, when you reach big stack, you should actively try to play a tighter range and see if that changes anything. When you hit, capitalize. But don't start chasing draws or playing speculative hands because you can afford it. As you see it adds up to big losses in the course of a tournament.

I make it simple I always play to win.When I worried about the bubble my gameplan changed and I sometimes made it threw the bubble but once there my stack was very small.

You can try to just close the table after you become the chip leader
This will allow you, maybe even reach the final table
If you have become the chip leader, then try to just play only with strong cards. For example, you are the chip leader and now you only play with cards like : AA, KK, QQ, JJ, TT, AK, AQ.
You simply don't play all other hands. Just fold. This will greatly increase your chances and I am sure will allow you to significantly improve your results. Good luck

Watch your tips as BB, not as quantity, avoid losing tips with weak hands, take the maximum out of your opponents at good hands, and keep you mind clean, consistency is the key

Sometimes when I get a lot of chips, I play too many hands or try to knock out other players. You don't have to be the "sheriff" and can sit back and play fundamentally good poker (play aggressively in position and especially with your strong hands).
