BB vs BU defense 20 deep

Hey guys,

How wide are you defending BB vs a 20bb button open?
I tend to be too tight in these spots, especially in tournaments. Curious how others approach this – are you flatting a ton or just reshoving/folding?

with a 20BB stack I wouldn't call, if I have a decent hand I'll go all in, if my hands are below average I'll just drop

Against a small BTN open like a min-raise or slightly more you need to defend anything except junk. With 20BB effective you can both reshove and call.

This is a wide vs. wide setup with some polarized approaches here for 25 BB.

But you can construct your ranges also in other ways depending on your comfort playing style.

If I'm playing the hand at that point I'm shoving. I'm not calling to have to fold to the flop majority of the time(it's hard to hit cards/make hands in Holdem). So calling is just pissing away chips in my opinion. Won't be sharing my own personal ranges but will say they are wider then my TAG table image in these situations so I get many of my all-in bluffs thru in these situations.

You have to defend a lot in this spot, you will only fold the worst ones like 72o, T5o, 92o, 82o for example
