I would have bet out on the flop. On the turn there was too much bad on the board so I would have checked and then folded to any bet. Same for the river.

I agree with you and I think that even that flop is dangerous considering his pre-flop call. He has an Ace.

With a hand like this, you consistently attack your opponent's stack preflop...
If the villain called, with a flop like this, you defend your stack from the villain. Fold.

Obviously check again and be happy he check back.

I think, its to thin to bet for value with 4 cards to a straight. So check and make a decision, if he bet. As played fold.
