the winner is the one with the jack of clubs and 5 of hearts because he has a str8 with the joker as the wild card.

Both hands have a flush using the jack as a diamond. But player 1 would win because he has the 8 in his hand. It would be as follows. player 1 has Ace diamonds, king, nine, ten and eight all diamonds. Player 2 has Ace diamonds, king, nine and five all diamonds. The joker is the ACE of diamonds for both hands. The tricky part of this is the joker if one makes the joker the ace in one hand and the other doesn't then they would loose because of a nut flush, so both hands need to use the joker as the ACE. Any other thoughts???.

Like my man MIH202 said the winner would be player 2 because he made the straight on the river:fight:

My only additional thought here doesn't change the outcome you called. We normally wouldn't play with a Joker in my games/tourneys, but I've played with guys who do. The general rule is that no wild card can ever be the highest card in your straight or flush. So even there Player 1 still wins with the best flush.

Player One would have the following:

A flush (Diamonds) with A (JOKER) - K - 10 - 9 - 8

Player two would have:

A flush (Diamonds) with A (Joker) - K - 10 - 9 - 5

The A-K-10-9-8 would beat the A-K-10-9-5.

Therefore Player One wins the hand.

Also, for the moron (MIH202) who said that the straight wins...a FLUSH beats a STRAIGHT, if you have any knowledge of the game, you would know this.

I guess I haven't been playing long enough, but where do you play hold'em with jokers? And more importantly: WHY?
