OK. A player usually doesn't second guess himself when he wins a hand but I did on this one. Call me crazy if you want. About the third hand in a tournament, I was dealt As, Qd. I raised the big blind 5x (big blind was only 20) one player calls. The flop comes Ac, Kh, 3s. I bet $200 and the other player raises it to 500. I call. The turn is 7d. I check and the other player bets 1000. I call. The river is 2d. I check and the other player bets 1500. Now, at this point if I call, I would only have 600 left. I thought about it for a few minutes. I don't know why I decided to call but I did. Maybe it was the fact the player I was plying against was a losse cannon sometimes but anyway. I threw my 1500 in the pot and say "What do you have?" He shows Ah, Jd. I show my hand. The other player got pissed. "How could you call with A, Q?!" I said "How could you raise with A, J?" The player hated me for the rest of the tournament, which I enjoyed. A day later I thought about this hand and still question why I invested so much with a pair of Aces with a Queen kicker when so many cards would have beaten me. Anyway, forget the fact I won the hand, was it a good call considering the situation?

Ok so it transpired that you made an excellent call. He was representing a bigger hand than he actually had. He led at the pot, and played aggressively. Now some people might disagree with me here, but to WIN (and i hope that was why you were there) a tournament making the sort of calls you describe above is essential. You were leading at the pot, and he re-rasied on the flop, essentially telling you that his hand was vunerable. My first thought here would have been 2-pair, with A3. Why would he re-raise here if he was holding a monster (AA or KK) ?
