Sorry guys I had to take a break from the forum after i lost in the $100 silver freeroll tournament today,I made some good calls today and I would like to believe I did one today, but I am second guessing my play, I could have folded to the money but I went for it, sorry enough of what if’s here’s the hand, sorry my pc not working had to play on phone so 888 poker can’t give me my hand history.anyway I have the button if folds to me blinds are $200 $400 I have about 6200 I min raise to $800 with KTo small blind folds bb calls with about 4200 in chips flop is K 7h 8h not sure the suit of the K not a heart tho so I min bet $400 and the villain goes all in so do I call or fold I know he had a flush draw I see three mistakes or is it a mistake could have just fold maybe raised too small or just folded when he went all in he won with a straight flush with 56s was not knocked out but it hearts, I eventually finished in 20th place top 15 got paid if I won I would be in second or third in chips I was seventh when I started the hand.so guys tell me good call or bad call.Thank you for your comment and reply’s.

I wouldnt be looking pre flop to fold K10 off on the button when folded to me near the bubble of a tourney so the options really are min raise or jam. You dont mention what the SBs stack is which is important in this spot along with player tendencies of each. If they are both tight then obviously we can just min raise here with any two and its +EV. Without knowing those I think jamming is fine and Im sure its +EV over the long run but I am not sure its better than min raising. I personally would min raise here and most likely be folding to a jam.

On the flop I would feel good about my hand but I dont understand the min bet here into a pot that would be a little bit more than 2k. We want to charge/get value from draws so I think basically a 35-40% pot bet will do it since villain given their stack size and where we are in relation to the bubble should not be floating too much. Although I do think they will float to a min bet as they could easily deem that to look suspicious. When villain jams it is a spot where Id be swearing at myself but once I calmed down we have to range them. Not sure anything about this opponent but knowing its a freeroll I would think there would be less traps and a really big pre flop hand would have jammed over you pre. That leaves Kx, 8x, 7x and draws and I guess some random bluffs although I dont think there are too many if any of those. (have to estimate this since not sure 4200 in chips is after they call your pre flop raise or when the hand starts) You are getting roughly 1.8 to 1 (again that can easily be wrong but trying to go off what you wrote and estimating antes) so you need about 36% equity against that range which you have so if I am ranging them correctly then this is a call as you did.

Did you have the flush blocker T? If not then we can possibly over fold here. Do you have EQUILAB? this is a good hand to use EQ to look at our hand vs their range. The overfold is based on the fact that a standard check shove in freerolls is 2 pair plus and with a weak redraw for us it is an auto fold at this stage of the tournament to protect our stack. As played it was 45% no heart 49% with the Th so not a raw equity mistake but if we have a skill advantage we do not need to take this spot.
