Sometimes we can learn a lot from observing, how our opponents play their hands. Maybe they do something, which we should also do ourselfes. Or maybe they do something, which we want to avoid. This hand is probably more in the latter category, or maybe the site was just rigged? :)

Those limp followed by tiny 3-bets usually scream for Aces in the micros 🤣

But yeah, can't fold with those odds. Glad he let you draw for free. Maybe he hoped for a bet of you and check-raise it. 🤔

Anyway, as you said: don't do it like this 😅

Pretty hilarious hand indeed. Particularly since even limping worked for him; all he needed to do was make a normal-sized 3bet and you'd have to fold.

Exactly. Which is why, I did not feel any urge to bet the flop, just because he checked to me. And I would not put a ton of more chips into this pot, unless I made 2 pair or better.

I would have snap folded to a normal sized 3-bet like 12-15BB.

Do you think that is any moment in a tournament or in your case sit & go when you could call on limp with aces? I never limp or just call with AA, even of the money bubble, I tend to raise or 3-bet.

Well not from early position and with deep stacks like this. But from SB I do a lot of open limping, and depending on, how aggressive I think, the opponent is, I might well put AA in my limping range, and then of course go for the limp-reraise. With short stacks I might also sometimes just call with AA from BB, just like I call with a lot of other hands. This could be, if I feel, I am to short to make a small 3-bet, and if a jam might get to much fold equity. The it can be cool to have AA in your calling range and allow the opponent to C-bet the flop with air or catch up to a second best hand. By the way this is an MTT and not a SnG.

If there is a lot of raising on the table and people don't know you, I think it is at least okay to limp with Aces from early position. May even be optimal.

You are telling everyone exactly what hand you have because you (hopefully) never open-limp anything else, so be aware that you are ridiculously unbalanced when doing this.

But like, that may be fine. Just a week ago I played in a live tournament where I raised 3 BB over one limper with a < 12BB stack (my stack), which also told my opponent exactly what I had because I would shove or fold everything except AA or maybe KK. But I knew that my opponent wasn't good enough to know this, so I did it anyway, and it worked out.
