Hi all. Fairly close to the bubble in this mini EPT game tonight. I 3 bet the initial raiser with TT, then the short stack and 2 other players shove.

My question here is more to do with the bounties that are in play. I think we have to expect over cards and or at least 1 overpair in this spot. BUT should the bounties available affect my decision to fold here?

To an extent I'm looking at this hand as a missed opportunity due to how it played out, and the hands they showed. I'm just not sure I put enough thought into the bounties in this spot as I don't really play them that often. The 2 available are worth more than min cash of $9, and I already have $10. I'm thinking that I could expect Keyhell to have weaker than usual as he may be calling for the bounty??

Mouch the short stack had $2.50, but Gamer, who I also cover had $8.13.

Pre flop: Stack size is everything in this hand since we are at that awkward 25-30 BB stack. Without knowing anything about the initial raiser (what we know about them comes into play a lot or should in our decision) I think I like flatting here and not opening myself up to what happened to you. With that being said assuming we know EP raiser is not a nit then jamming is not terrible and would be my second choice of action here but it would be somewhat far behind my first choice of flatting and my second to last choice of 3 betting. I think when we 3 bet here for 1/4th our stack we A) are not raising enough to get a fold from EP raiser and B) are coming close to committing ourselves or will put ourselves in a spot where if villain just called then we would likely c bet the flop which would commit us assuming it was any kind of normal sizing. For those reasons plus giving ourselves an exit strategy I like just calling here and if everyone else comes in then the set mine odds are there and if no one else comes in then we play heads up in position with a decent pair. As played in the hand when it got back to you I would fold as well since I would figure Im outright beat or at least will be going against two or more overcards. The bounties should factor into your decision but I think that should factor into a pre flop jam more than a call off since in bounties other players should expect lighter calls due to the bounties so they should be jamming here decent (def more decent than what they had) and you can jam expecting to get called by worse.

Flop: We did not see the flop but if we were in it (say villain just flatted you heads up) , it would not be a good one with Ace high and could be one where we would have been fairly easily bluffed off of it. Plus throw in another overcard to boot so this would not have been a great flop. I would not want to play a hand like this with a really low SPR (less than 2 if called only by first villain) so that is another reason why I would just flat pre to at least have some maneuverability in the hand.

It's a hyper progressive ko, I did not look the to structure yet, but they are over in a very short period. As the blinds go high we not expect the most clean games, but right now we have a comfortable stack. Your notes could be relevant once when it comes to act UTG+1's open. Its a very early open so if we know by now that this person has a strict range better just call I think, but if we don't have any suspicion about that, I would do the 3-bet as well.

As we cover both SB and BB and our opponent right now UTG+1 who we better to lay down against, if you're choosing the 3-bet line, I'd go higher here, not just 6bb's to a 2.2bb. Would probably go just under 30.000 chips like 29.500. I find 1010 strong in this position to call of the micro stack and one other. However the 2 bigger ones can't be called at the same time. It's obvious that "keyhell" did a mistake with this 77 as slightly covered BB and you were left to act with your 3bet already.

So in my eyes, the bounties should not affect his decision to go clearly in disatvantage for these booties, while you became the victim of his wrong decision. :/

In a normal MTT I would also fold, when 3 players have moved all-in. However in a PKO we do need to call off wider, when we can win bounties, that have a significant value when converted to chips. So this fold is in fact to tight. Its not only, that we are getting better odds. Its also, that both BB and UTG have wider ranges for stacking off, because they than win bounties as well. ICM software like ICMizer can give the exact ranges, but off the top of my head I call here with 99+ and AQ+.

Its quite common in PKOs, that you need to take part in a multiway all-in preflop like this, and then just hope to get lucky. On average you will bust faster than in normal MTTs. But when you win a spot like this, the reward is huge. Not only do you then win the bounties here and now, you also get a massive stack, which allow you to run deep and contend for future bounties.

it keeps always surprising me the amount of players who do shove huge with low pockets like this 88, im not inclined to believe its a strategy to froze action of better hands thou , looks more like pure donk stupidity, once again he made a good (winner) hand fold...ends up being a coin flip, he obviously knew that and was not counting with big stack's call, wich , to my eyes, was the donkest move of the whole hand....77 is an easy fold
