Micro Super Bounty. I have a decent stack. Would a 3bet work here PF? MP is a tight player who is a small winner at these stakes. He could have 99+, AK, AQ, AJs. I have been aggressive in this game but I've also showed down, AA, KK (twice!), AK

I made a decision to try and get to showdown cheap instead but would a 3bet be worthwhile here sometimes?

Preflop
You can 3-bet a hand like 77 from time to time, but with this stack depth and against a small open from "a tight player" in HJ I definitely think, calling has a higher EV. For me to even 3-bet light at all against "a tight player" I would need some information, that he actually fold to 3-bet. This is important, because if he is "tight", which mean not playing many hands preflop, then per definition he has a strong range, so he SHOULD not fold a lot to 3-bets.

For him to do that, he would need to be not only tight but also weak, meaning that he only wants to play a big pot with the absolute strongest hands, so that if for instance he has AQo or AJs, he is just going to fold, even he have position on you. In general we want to attack players, that are out of position with a weak range, and here the opposite is the case. But of course it depends, what you actually mean, when you say "tight". For me a "tight" player is someone with stats like VPIP 16 / PFR 12, and in general I would not expect such a player to fold a lot to 3-bets.

Postflop
Not much to say here. You missed your set and can not continue on this board in a multiway pot not even to a delayed C-bet. He can have hands like JJ-KK or weak suited AX, that check back flop for pot control and bet the turn for value, and BB could also still have a hand from time to time.

Not a huge sample and not super tight but fairly tight, I think. I've only see him show down 66,55,33

Probably play everything the same as you. Would also consider 3betting and then probably decide not to. Don't try anything postflop, just folding is the professional choice here.

This is a fairly small sample, but PFR 11.5% is on the low side, and fold to 3-bet require far more hands to become reliable. So definitely nothing here, that indicate, it would be a great spot to 3-bet 77 out of position against a 68BB stack.
