Washington Nationals Baseball

Great home stand with Cincinnati. Washington beat the Reds 10-8 in the first game. The second game also went to the Nats 6-1.
The Nationals only had 7 hits but they were well timed for scoring runs. Bell hit his 13th home run. We lost the third game 5-0
Off day today then on to Minnisots for a weekend series with the Twins.

All right, The Washington Nationals showed up with plenty of offense after losing the first game to the Minnesota Twins
1-0. The second game,Washington scored 9 runs to 3 by the Twins and came on strong in the third game to win going away
7-2. Two out of three for a series win. Next, three games with the Astros in Houston.

Not as good as the last series. We won two out of three in Minnesota but turned around and lost two out of three in Houston.
Washington won a low scoring game 2-1 from the Astros. That put us on a three game winning streak. Sadly the streak
ended there and we lost the next two games, 7-4 and 9-1 yesterday. Off day today, then home to Washington for 3 games
with the Milwaukee Brewers.

The series with the Milwaukee Brewers was a thrashing for Washington. The Brewers scored 38 runs off the Washington
pitching staff and we got 14 off the brewers pitching staff. The scores were 16-9 , 8-2 ( thats as close as we got) and lastly14-3. The Brewers look like the team to beat in this years playoffs. World Series champs? We will see. Tonight the Oakland
Athletics, first of 3.

Washington broke its 7 game losing streak, We beat the Oakland Athletics 2-1 in the second game after losing to them
16-7 in game one of the series. Cade Cavalli was called up from the minors after a 3 year absence to recover and rehab
from tommy-john surgery. Pitched great. We lost the third game 6-0. Off yesterday, now 3 games with the Giants in
San Francisco.

Hi Washington Nationals fans. I was out of town for a week enjoying family time. Good to be back, Three game series with the Giants. We lost 5-0
won 4-2 ans won 8-0. Then we went to KC and the Royals. Lost the first 2 games, 7-4 and 8-5, then won the last game 8-7. Next, Philadelphia Phillies.
Nats won 3-2, then lost 6-2. then won 2-0 and lost the last game 11-9. Not too bad against the NL East leaders. Next, an off day then 3 games with the Mets.

That was a nice series with the Mets. Washington managed to win 2 of
the 3 games, we lost the opener 8-1, came back to win the second game
5-4 . The last game, we were down 3-0 and wound up winning 9-3.
James Wood had his 26th homerun and Jose Ferrer had his 4th save.
Tomorrow, back to Philadelphia for 3 games.

The series in Philly yielded one win out of the three games. We started out great with a
5-4 win, scoring 2 runs to take the lead in the 9th inning and then holding on through the Phillies half of the inning for the win. The second game we lost, 6-4 and the third game that also went to the Phillies, was close 3-2. Next, today in New York for 3 with the Yankees.

We made the Yankees happy with our visit to New York. We lost all three games. The scores were, 10-5 with Washington scoring all 5 runs in the 9th, 5-1 and lost the last game 11-2.
That certainly helped New York with their wild card run. Washington is home now against the Tampa Rays for 3 games.

Oboy. The Nats are on a roll. We lost all 3 games to the Tampa Bat Rays, the hits are just not coming for Washington. We have now lost 10 games in a row, it can't get much worse
then that. Next we get the Miami Marlins for 3 games.

Wonder of wonders. Washington had a three game sweep of the Miami Dolphins.
I cannot remember when we last had a series sweep. That sure broke their losing
streak. The Nats won 2-0, 5-2, and 10-5. Excellent. Now 3 games starting tomorrow with the Cubs.

Sounds like a tough game with those conditions! Hopefully, the Nats can make it 3 in a row before heading west. At least the warmer weather should be a nice change for them after battling that cold and wind.

Once again the Nats amaze. We won 2 of the 3 games with the Cubs in Chicago. All
three games were played at 2:15 in the afternoon. The Nats lost 11-5, then won
2-1 and won the rubber game 6-3 with Bell hitting a homer in the ninth inning.
Now we go to Miami for 4 games , starting tonight.

Started out great in Miami, and went downhill. Washington won the first game 15-7
and won the second game 7-5. Great start. Unfortunatly, we lost the second game
8-3 and then got shut out in the last game 5-0. Dang, Pittsburgh is in town now
for 3 games.

The Pirates were in town for 3 games and Washington managed to win 2 of them. We won the first game 6-5. Tight game but we came out on top. We lost the secnd game
by 5-1. In the 3rd game we managed to come from 3-0 behind to go up in the bottom of the 8th 4-3 and hold on for the win. Next Atlanta for four games with the Braves.

Washington just had another rough series, four game series with the Atlanta Braves.
Yep, we lost all four. We lost 11-3, then 6-3, then 5-0 and finally 9-4. Really sad for the
Nationals. Next, New York and the Mets for 3 games.

A lot better. Washington won two out of three games from the wildcard chasing
New York Mets in New York. We lost the first game by 12-6, not even close.
The second game Washington was up 3-0 for most of the game. The Mets scored
3 late and took the game to extra innings. No scoing in the 10th inning, In the 11th,
we got a man on and then Daylen Lile hit an inside the park homerun and the Nats
won 5-3. The last game we held on for a 3-2 win. Now to Atlamta for 3 games.

The trip to Atlanta ended with a win for Washington. We lost the first two games
of the three game series, 11-5 and the 3-2 to the Braves. Washington came on
in the 3rd game and we won 4-3. James Wood had 2 home runs, number 29 and 30
for the year. Now, home to Washington for the last 3 games of the year with the
Chicago Wite Sox.
