What is currently the best poker platform to play online?

In your opinion, what is currently the best poker platform to play online? Considering factors such as reliability, bonuses, rake, tournament variety, interface, and player level, which one stands out the most in 2025?

GGPoker has a lot of big series, but as a recreational player, they don't have a lot of freerolls. 888 has more freerolls that anybody else, and on several occasions I made a few cents, which afterwards I spent on tournaments. GG offers a freeroll ticket per day. As a recreational player, I never made enough money to withdraw it from any of these 2 sites. I haven't played on WPT in ages and completely give up on Pokerstars a long time ago.

The best poker room to play in is the one where each player finds it easier to make a profit.
There are players who profit more on GGpoker, for example, which is a site where I personally don’t have good results.

For my style of play, the rooms where I currently profit the most are:

• WPT Global
• PartyPoker
• 888poker
• PokerStars

From time to time, these rankings change. There have been periods when I profited more on PokerStars or 888poker.

So, what’s the best room to play in?
It’s the one where each individual player finds it easier to make a profit. This depends on each player — there is no single room that is best for everyone.

For me, the best platform to play poker right now is ggpoker. It has everything a poker room should have. I love its software, plus the promotions it offers. The rake races are the best, and the jackpots are even better.

Short answer: there isn’t one “best” for everyone in 2025—it depends on what you value. Here’s the practical breakdown I’d use:

Best all-around for big tournaments & features: GGPoker. Massive MTT schedule (incl. wsop Online), slick software, lots of formats. Rewards via Fish Buffet can be big but are complex and depend on net-rake/PVI, so actual rakeback varies.

Best for reliability + classic MTT depth: PokerStars. Still elite for series like SCOOP/WCOOP and recently revamped rewards with tiers that can reach up to ~60% for high-volume players. Software is rock-solid and the lobby is deep at most stakes.

Best for freerolls/softer fields & promos: 888poker. Frequent freerolls and beginner-friendly promos (availability varies by region), with more casual fields than the two giants.

My pick: if I had to choose one for tournaments and overall ecosystem, I’d go GGPoker; if I wanted the most established platform with predictable structures and huge flagship series, PokerStars; and if I were building a roll mainly through promos/freerolls, 888poker. The right call for you boils down to: tournaments & features (GG) vs stability & depth (Stars) vs freerolls & softer pools (888).

I prefer Pokerstars over all the other sites for one big reason. They are the most trustworthy. Lots of great sites out there now especially GG and 888 but stars are their for the players when it matters they are head and shoulders the best for dealing with cheating and security issues historically.

I had a chance to try only 2: GG Poker and WPT - GG poker has my vote, if I had to choose just one.

GGPoker is by far the most appreciated! It offers everything players need, and on top of that, there are no withdrawal conditions like on other platforms!

888 and GG. Both options are quite good. 888 has lots of freerolls, but absolutely no player support service. GG doesn't have as many freerolls, but it regularly runs interesting promotions.

My general recommendation is anything other than GGpoker, especially if you play Cash. Stars is ok although the field is pretty tough.

If you play MTTs only, you can play on GG if you really want to, or there are no good alternatives.

For starters/ players that want to learn the game and/ or want to build a poker bankroll from 0(or maybe a small deposit), I still recommend 888 for the many promotions and freerolls(lots of giveaways on Twitch and other social media too), the field is way smaller compared to GG/ Pokerstars but soft pools(for cash games, especially snap, it might be a bit annoying sometimes as there might be a very low number of players in the pool* depends on the stakes...)
