Hi. I'm looking for a few opinions here. So I play on stars and play a lot of tables. So I'm not someone that plays 1 or 2 tables. By that I mean at least 12 tables. I would sometimes do 20 tables even or a bit more. I use HEM3 and starscaption. However, this is basically impossible as the moment I have say 16 tables opened, the software is unplayable. It starts to lag and then freeze and then the software crashes. I notice the moment I have say 12 tables opened, some of my tables would have the fold and call display box completely disappear from the table. Only the raise box shows up. Has anyone here had this happen? Then when action is on me at the tables, it doesn't matter if I use my mouse to click fold/call/raise or use a hotkey to do it. It either doesn't work or take at least 10 clicks at the minimum to get it to the action. What ultimately happens is the clicking doesn't work at my tables and then I get sat out at all my tables. I then have to force close the software and then log back in again.

One thing that always happens is whenever I am about close to close the stars client, it always show in top left corner pokerstars Lobby (Not Responding). It would show that and the software would freeze for a bit. Then it would close. Does anyone here have this issue? Is the only way to fix this issue is uninstall and reinstall the software? But I have to make sure to save the 2 files so I can get back all my Pokerstars settings?

My laptop is an i7-12700h processor and 32gb ram. I have an Intel iris xe graphics card and Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050. However, it doesn't seem stars uses the Nvidia 3050 when playing? Is there a way to get it to do that? I believe a while back you could make stars uses your other graphics card in the settings but you can't do that anymore? The thing is I use 2 external monitors with it... one is 32' 4k monitor and another is 24' 1920x1200 monitor. So you can imagine how many tables I have showing up on these screens. The thing is I believe my 2 graphics card are not up to date which might be a reason for this? Or that probably isn't the case? The thing is because I play a lot of tables, I can't have the software keep doing this. I had the same issue with 888 as well and recall I couldn't play more than 10 tables at the max before these issues occur.

Are there any tech people here that can tell me what I should do here?

I know this forum probably isn't the one to ask this as most people here probably play more than a few tables max at once? But is anyone here able to play say 18 tables comfortably without any lag? Like imagine you playing 18 tournaments or sngs of 1 dollar and below and testing it to see how many tables you can play without lag? I know back in the day, people could do 20 tables and 24 tables without any issue and this was using holdem manager or pokertracker back in the day where you didn't even really need a fast computer. Back then with my older laptop with an i5-6300q processor and 8gb ram, I recall rarely was there any lag or freezing Issues on stars even when I go up to 20 tables. But since aurora got introduced, nobody can play that many tables anymore right? I assume if you don't use holdem manager or pokertracker or starscaption, maybe it's possible? But hard for someone to play without it if playing lot of tables.

How would I update my graphics drivers if that might work?

Updating your Nvdia Driver is the easiet thing you can do.

Go to their website nvidia.com and search for the driver. Drivers website.
There you can choose your graphics card model, Operating system type and so on and download the needed driver.
Take the Game Ready Driver type.

Another thing you can do is reduce all gimmics like animations in the pokerstars client setting to a minimum.
Try to find settings that don´t stress your system too much in the settings below.
Use Hardware acceleration should be enabled.

Also try to reduce animations in the following screen of the settings.
This may help too.

Also try to keep your Database (HEM3) healthy and responding well, by doing a database cleaning found under the Tools Menu in HEM3.

I hope this will help.

Are you saying to change the settings to exactly like yours in the pictures you posted? I am confused that you say reduce gimmicks but lot of yours are on? But it doesn't matter for you since you play a few tables only?

The hardware acceleration, should that be Yes as oppose to detect? So yes means it would use the Nvidia 3050? I had changed it to that earlier but when I check my GPU in task manager, it doesn't appear stars is using the Nvidia one?

I know playing less tables would mean this issues wouldn't happen much. The thing is I have to get in volume though. So I want to know if there is a way to present these software issues?

I'm not sure how to even record a video playing.

The thing is does anyone know of others who play lot of tables and if so, what settings did they change their animations and everything to?

No, I wanted to show you the places where you can tweak.
In our country we can´t play more than 4 tables (regulated by law) so no performance problems here with the settings shown.

Perhaps take the opposite settings for better performance.

But set use accelerated graphics hardware on, not on auto-detect.

I think I said these are the places where you can tweak performance.

Okay so you can't play that many tables so software would never be an issue for you.

I recently updated both my Intel iris xe graphics driver and the Nvidia 3050. When I close stars, always same issue of Pokerstars Lobby (Not Responding) showing up and freezing for a bit before software closes. Never does the software close smoothly ever without it. So what is the reason for this?

Set accelerated graphics hardware on... you mean the 2nd option right? I did that and still these issues.

I'm wondering but is it possible it's because I'm on wifi? I don't think that is the issue since I don't have these lagging issues much if I play 8 tables or less.

Would uninstall and reinstalling be the best option? How do I make sure I save the backup files before I do this?

Has anyone here done this and does it work?

Desktop: Lobby issues - Clearing the application and lobby cache

If you're having issues with our lobby, seeing a red error page, graphical issues, or loading issues, we recommend clearing the application and lobby cache from our software.
To do this, follow the instructions below, depending on your operating system:
Windows
  1. Close our software. You won't be able to delete the required files while our software is open.
  2. Open the 'Run' command window ('Windows key + R').
  3. Type in:
    %temp%
  4. Delete these folders:
    • 'XCW' is the application cache.
    • 'PokerStarsBrCache' is the lobby cache.
Finally, to complete the process, restart your computer.

When you close the pokerstars software, does it always close instantly? So nobody here gets the Pokerstars Lobby (Not Responding) message and it freezes for a bit before it closes?
