The claim of OP was, that "GGPoker is the most unethical non-scam poker site ever created", which I tend to agree with. Your response is basically of the type "but there are also other drug dealers". Which does not really adress any of the points made by OP, or by myself quoting the music as an example of, how GG Poker differ from other sites. So lets just end it here![]()
Just because you seem very worried about the freerolls that were unfairly cut from our poker community.I don need a "freeroll paycheck" 😅 and i dont care at all. People are people.
Just had to point that out because some members are wondering at times why rooms cut everywhere they can. Actually i think it would be more a tragedy for the types that never make deposits and depend 100 % on free offers.
Yeah im sure u leave generous tips 👍
🤣 I don’t want to offend any GG fans, I’m just saying that all poker rooms find a way to “rob” you—figuratively speaking. It’s just a way of putting it. Poker rooms are to players what banks are to entrepreneurs: a necessary evil haha. In the end, every bank finds its own way to take money from you too
This site (Cardschat) used to be predominantly 'poker players' (probably 99%). Of course GG could be better than it is (better rewards, lower rake, etc.) but imo, today it is one of the best there is (if not THE BEST).
I have friends who earn a living because of being able to play on GGPoker. They would be still earning a living without GG but for some of them, they make more off of GG than all other sites combined! How is this a bad thing for poker players?
I have friends who really enjoy being able to play poker on GGPoker. Many of them are losing players but they ENJOY playing. And having the convenience to play from their livingroom couch is extremely appealing to them.
imo, it's about taking responsibility for yourself. A gambling addict is going to get their fix because 'they need it'.
The restaurant/bar doesn't make me drink their beer. The dealer doesn't make me do their drugs. And if I were an active drinker or drug user, I would appreciate both for having stuff available for me. I don't blame the dealer once my life falls apart.
You know the weirdest thing about GGPoker. Even with their current promo, I have never played a game on GGPoker that I didn't want to play in. Not a single one!
I agree with the OP. For me GG is anti poker pros and regs, with crazy rake and features to make games less profitable. I dont play there.
So these poker pros couldnt make a profit without GG?! Without GG there would be more traffic elsewhere with more transparent and fair terms plus lower rake, so they would be making more money. GG is just taking a larger cut at the expense of players.

If OP was living in the USA do you think they'd be posting this? imo, people who have had access to the different sites don't understand that online poker shouldn't be taken for granted. I have no doubt there are thousands (hundreds of thousands?) of poker players in the USA who would love to play on GGPoker
Your loss, the majority of pros plays there but OK...so your claim is simply falseI agree with the OP. For me GG is anti poker pros and regs, with crazy rake and features to make games less profitable. I dont play there.
Because they've dominated the market and have the biggest gamesIf it is so 'anti-pros' why are there so many on the site? I mean there are LOADS of them!

OP has explained in a lot of detail, what he think, GG Poker does differently. Since I have never played there, I cant go to much into this discussion. But I have noticed, that as soon as I open the GG Poker client (I have an account there, which I have never used), it starts to play soothing music for me. This does not happen, when I open the clients of PokerStars, ACR Poker or 888 Poker. So already there is the first sign, that GG Poker is different and worse.

Don't get me wrong gambling addiciton is a serious problem but I really don't see why this is different on GGPoker.
Can you turn the slow reveals off? Because I looked for this and didn't find it. Also didn't find ways to turn off options to see remaining cards, or your own hand. Or notifications for other players' wins.Luckily you can turn most of this functionality off, which I already did![]()
You are completely right. Even I admit it—I’ve never deposited money on GG. But I’ve withdrawn over $1K just starting from scratch with the daily freebie. It used to be the same on pokerstars, but they stopped giving that opportunity once the new daily spin turned into a jokeThis site (Cardschat) used to be predominantly 'poker players' (probably 99%). Then simply stop playing there. ..Hard to respond to this when I list about six factors that contribute to gambling addiction and are unique to GGPoker and you respond by asking what's different about GGPoker.
Yes it does make it false. It doesnt make my claim false, both things can be true. Alot of pros play there as they have the biggest games and more fish. Doesnt mean they arent scummy with higher rake etc
Kinda surprised this comment didn't come earlier, that was the main counterargument I expected when I submitted the thread.Well, for me it is like complaining that the site is unethical, because it is better than other sites. They just have managed to make a better, more attractive product.
Is it unethical because they have a lot of promotions, many tournaments, nice, smooth graphic, some video effects, nice music, more fun?
I understand the gambling addiction is a problem, but it is like complaining about a whiskey manufacturer that their stuff is to tasty.
As an extreme example I can even see complaints about GG Honemoon promotion. The promotiion advertises you can get $350. But it is EVIL, because the last $150 is pretty hard! The easy to get $200 is not important? Any other site offers so much?
It is capitalism in its essence as a system. It's no wonder that GGPoker has consolidated its position as the world's leading online poker site.
In general we may say that providing gambling service is unethical. But I cannot see why GG is worse than others just because they do it well. But y'know, so did twitter. And YouTube. And TikTok. And the entire social media apparatus that's tearing society apart right now. So I don't really think it's a good argument. It doesn't help the people whose lives were ruined by GGPoker, and they most certainly exist.
