Can poker platforms like PS, GG and others keep your personal data on their websites after you delete your account?

In short, can I request that my data such as CPF and email be deleted from the website or can they keep this information registered on their website forever?

Is the practice of retaining users' personal data after deletion and request considered a legal practice?

I appreciate the opinions.

I think they keep everything and don't delete anything for at least 10 years. I think they keep this information because they have it, and they don't have to pay rent for storing it. In fact, they don't lose anything by keeping this information. Besides, it is definitely better to have access to information or a player database in particular than not to have it.
And I'm pretty sure that they separately store information about players who have had problems in terms of violating the rules of the site, or problems with gambling addiction, or other controversial issues. I think they can keep such information even longer.

the information about it is secret, but I think it can be found
1.google doesn't help
2.poker sites don't tell you about it
3.find people who have done it and ask them

i have done this 10 years ago i lived in england and i had 888 and ps accounts
I got jailed for 6 years for fighting in England
now I live in Latvia and I have created 888 and pokerstars other accounts because I don't remember the old ones and they are not used now.
there are no problems playing and I think that the old accounts and information were deleted because I did not use them for at least 5 years

LGPD data deletion process should work with poker sites if you are Brazilian citizen but if you made money deposits / withdrawals it's likely gonna take longer than the standard 6 months before they delete your data. Likely 12 months, 24 months or maybe even 36 months. In some cases they could not delete it ever, depends on how taxes / money laundering laws work in this case.

I would just contact support, ask them to delete all data ascociated with your account using LGPD regulation and then ask how long it takes before they delete your data. Then wait that period of time (+ few months just in case) and then create new account with real information, make min deposit and verify your ID and address.

if they say they remove your data they won't go back on their words, nobody wants to play god with those data privacy laws are much more serious than people think... it would just create problems for PokerStars Brazilian market which already is struggling regulation wise.

Hi
I think information about players is stored for years, if not decades. It's quite valuable information and a fairly detailed database. no one will delete this data just like that.

I think even if you request to delete your account, poker rooms will keep some information. Like, for example, if a player request to delete his poker account because of gambling problems, poker rooms has to have a way to avoid that he opens a new account.

I think your request for deletion of personal information would be absolutely reasonable. I just don't understand why you would do that. Or do you not want to play in these poker rooms (PokerStars and GGPoker)? Disappointed in them?

I would be very surprised to hear that they delete player data. It would be a big stupidity on their part. Why would they delete a potentially valuable database. You can't find this information easily, and it can be very valuable for a business like pokies or other gambling activities.

I don't know the Brazilian GDPRs but usually data should only be stored and kept when necessary.

In your case, due to the permanent exclusion, they'd probably have the right or even obligation to keep your data.

Same would hold for gambling addicts.

The data is stored for a long time, which in part prevents any idiot from asking to close their account and open a new one and enjoy the benefits of the first deposit, among other things.

Working with personal data has led to the emergence of one of the main risks of the modern information society - the loss of privacy.I would be very surprised to hear that they delete player data.
