Is anyone sure that the $1mil buy in game will be aired or webcast at all. I'm guessing a few of the players will prefer it remain private.

Then one would be silly to join the biggest buy-in tournament ever and expect it to ever remain private.

If this was left private, it would be a waste of time to even mention it in the first place.

Standard call though. Ivey had, what, six chips? He knew he was freerollin.

-

Um, no? This was the hand where Ivey went from having a respectable chip stack to having 6 chips.

He either limped or raised the button, and the small blind shoved with 62o. Ivey snap-called with 8s. Flop gave 62o a gutter, and the river completed the straight.

Small blind thought he could bluff Ivey. It will go down as one of the sickest hands in recent memory

---------- (from wsop.com):
Ivey Crippled as Golbuff Smacks Miracle Double
No-Limit Hold'em

Action folded to Phil Ivey in the cutoff seat and he raised to 20,000. On the button, Samuel Golbuff reraised all in for 159,000. The blinds folded and Ivey quickly called.

Ivey turned over the 8s 8d and was way ahead of the 6h 2s for Golbuff.

The flop came down an interesting 5c 3c 2h, giving Golbuff a pair and a straight draw, but keeping Ivey in front.

The Ks landed on the turn and Ivey was still in the lead, but a miracle 4s on the river gave Golbuff a six-high straight and doubled him up.

As the tournament director counted down that stack of Golbuff, all he could do was laugh at what had just happened while Ivey just stared blankly with his famous "Ivey face" and mouth dropped open as if to say, "Was that even real?"

Ivey was cripped and down to just 11,000 in chips.

Ah, okay it wasn't the SB - thanks for the clarification. But yeah, it was sick. The commentators went crazy when the 4 came down, literally shouting in disbelief, too loudly for the mics.

Sniff ... missing being in Vegas right now ... sniff

I bet.

This appears to be an old online acquaintance who brings modesty to his posts here (maybe he wants to lay low - but I am outing him) since he comes to CardsChat as a WSOP Final Tabler (5th in 2008 $1500) and an online beast (at least in the old days) with a win in the PS Nightly Hundred Grand (but I think I have more FTs then him in that event :) ) and several 5 figure PS cashes. Oh, and he is a member of the $500K online cash club in an unmentioned site.

Best of Luck at CardsChat...already some nice players and nice people here, good to add another top player.

Maybe give us an update on where you are playing and what you are up to these days.

PS...And he gave this donk a stake at least once. :marchmell

Did anyone watch the end of the shootout? I stopped watching when there were 3 players left & Esfandiari had a Huge lead (~4.1mil vs. 700k, vs 500k).
Just looked at the results now & saw that Antonio went out in 3rd????

I was hoping that Norman Chad would have made a better showing at the final table of Event 42. He was second in chips at the start of the final table, got caught up chasing with 2 pair to a pair on the board (lost a bunch to trips), and then didn't raise a hand until going out with 3 blinds worth of chips. Deer in the headlights, froze up tight, blinded out. And he kept getting openers in the 7 card and then not calling the 3 bet. No way he could have been that card dead.
