The wsop has concluded for another year, and all the hardware has been dealt out. Shaun Deeb had to wait until the very last WSOP tournament was completed before claiming the WSOP Player of the Year! Shaun had won the award once before in 2018 and became only the second player to win the honours twice.

Deeb receives the WSOP Player of the Year trophy, a $10,000 entry into the 2026 WSOP Main Event, and his second banner hung in the rafters of the Horseshoe.

With 5 FTs, one bracelet and many other cashes, the guy really worked for it. He deserves it more than any other player this year.
He even made me win 10 VIP chips and a mousepad in the Fantasy Stable competition :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:.

Congrats and Deeb certainly deserved it despite what the Grinder and Barry accomplished and taking nothing away from the other two. Could the formula for POY be improved....sure likely it's improved and changed from last year and Deeb still won it even thou most the changes made actually hurt his chances of repeating. Also I believe Deeb is one of the few players that plays the most total events every year at WSOP. Quite a performance and work ethic from Deeb.

PS...Question I just put to Google. Who played the most total events in WSOP in 2025....Answer: Shaun Deeb. 24 cashes. 18 live. 6 online. The mans a poker playing machine.

Cheers!!!

What to understand? Like poker is just a game of chance? Shaun shows us that poker is a complex game and that luck does not come first! Players who repeat substantial wins show us that you have to practice a lot, learn from the mistakes of others, etc!

Shaun Deeb has put in so much volume online and live that you can't explain his results as just running hot. A true grinder.

He was in my stable for the Cardschat WSOP challenge...but then, so was Chris Ferguson, who didn't play (or at least did not earn a single point for me).
Shaun has shown that he is versatile, playing in many poker variations.

It's really impressive what he keeps doing. Considering that he isn't playing online against the entire world this feat becomes bigger imho.
