this is sad news for the poker player who comes from holland. I thought that the Germans had it bad with all the changes, but we from germany can still play. I hope that the online poker site will get a license in Holland and that the Dutch poker players will be able to play poker normally online again.

According to some google search it is completely fine for europeans to play in unlicensed online poker rooms so ...
Havent actually tried to beat the system for years now so no clue anymore how it actually worked but i'd imagine using google DNS and/or VPN or something should help (therefore maybe you'd try Dr Google's help on that front) ...
But then again guess it's smart to NOT advise anyone to use such sites illegally ...

I have horse racing buddies whether they know it or not are heavily addicted to gambling on horses.
When I explain how much of the world can't play poker online they are amazed.
I hope the netherlands and all other countries will open up again soon for a game, which for most of us, is just a harmless pastime.

If they catch you using VPN , some sites might even not pay you your withdrawal , it's very sad to dedicate houndred of hours playing , then get a no from a poker room because you used VPN
I guess things will get normal in Netherlands , and PS will come back , until then they can play on GG poker , other poker rooms . Or go to neighbour state of Belgium/Denmark , try playing there if you're a pro or Big bankroll reg , why not .....

Question for the Dutch players!When I go to the GGPoker website on my laptop or mobile I get the following message:

I had read in the news that Dutch could play on GGPoker, is this an incorrect message and can I just create an account or can we (Dutch players) not play on GGPoker?

Most likely you tried at GGpoker.com, where indeed you get this message.
Instead you have to go to ggpoker.nl/nl
You will however get another message (in Dutch) which basically says there's some technical issue which causes a delay in validating accounts.
I haven't tried yet, but I assume you can just download the software/platform , but the validating process will take a little longer.
Nb before opening an account I advise to search for and read about the offered welcome bonus.

little update, I just downloaded the software, opened an account and was done in a few minutes.
I had to verify my email, had to upload a picture of an identity card and had to verify my bank account.
All this ofcourse just to prove I am who I am.
But actually a smooth process.

Maybe for you, for me as non dutch native, i gave up, after 5 days and 10 emails.. at the end they asked for job letter and some document where is my bsn.
They verified everything and except the ID... I told the lady, like i am going to my boss and ask for job letter " oh hey boss, i need a job letter for gambling"

Paysafe Group plc, the parent company of popular payment methods Neteller and Skrill, is no longer available for sending money to online casinos as of today. From October 22 it will no longer be possible to receive money in your wallet from an online casino.

The Swedish report also proposes a change around payment blocking. Under the new rules, the authorities would have the option to block payments through the Främjandeförbudet (promotion ban). That ban prohibits unlicensed online gambling providers from promoting their services in Sweden.

I think pokerstars is only Classed as being illegal as they did not apply in time for a Dutch License, but like in America it is slowly becoming legal in a few States, but it all takes time due to the bureaucracy and red tape in every Country and every American State.
It will always be the same, all over the World, If a Government is not getting their finger in the pie and getting their share from Poker sites they will introduce License's and License Fees so they can get their grubby mitts on our money one way or another.
It is exactly the same even in Local Government, I was a self employed Cab Driver here in my home town for many years, But the License Fees went up and up every year because the red tape cost more and more, due to wage increases at the Town Hall. The Cab Drivers got nothing from the increased charges and many went out of business because it became more exspensive for the individual Drivers.
