Did anyone else read the article that its now offensive for the King to be stronger than the Queen, so theres talk about making the cards gender neutral, ill post the news article if i can find it again.

This is an article about one woman who made a gender-neutral deck and sold them to her family and friends. If anyone has a problem with that, I suggest they seek professional help.
People love to jump on the "PC has gone too far!" bandwagon as an excuse to justify the ignorant things they have said and done to offend others in the past. (easier to blame society than to accept the fact that sometimes, under no malicious intent, we say or do offensive things)

It is to remove gender from something that has nothing to do with gender. What gender is 5? What about an Ace? To even have royalty in a deck is to say we cater to religious divine right and most of the modern world considers that dated and savage.

Totally agree. Why are people getting their knickers all twisted up about this? It’s a few decks of cards, not a life-altering mandate. Find something truly important to get riled up about—racial injustice, homelessness, climate crisis, gun violence, voting rights, drug abuse, healthcare, refugee crisis,...and on and on. So many more important things to put your energy toward.

It is such a pity a type of poster will leap to such an aggressive position when they evidently have not bothered to inform themselves of the origin of this story or read through the comments to see some diverse opinions. A Dutch girl made 50 sets of gender neutral playing cards which were instantly snapped up so she made another 1,500 sets. No biggie.

Yet here you are calling for lobotomies, puking on people or generally carrying on as if the world is coming to an end. Then, laughably, projecting onto others how uptight they are.

As this thread progresses it becomes increasingly transparent precisely where the intolerance lies...

This was just something a Dutch psychology graduate did with her father - she made fifty sets of cards and they sold quickly. Some commercial outlets showed interest so she made 1,500 more. The idea that any fundamental change is 'happening' or anyone will be forced to play with such cards in a casino is as ridiculous as the overreaction.
