Why would we boycott all poker rooms? Most of the casino interests are on our side. Besides, why would you wish for Congress to think poker rooms opposed legislation?

Much as you may wish to teach our opponents a lesson. our goal is to win, not to engage in feel-good faux actions that cannot possibly lead to victory.

Let's keep pushing for our freedoms! With the Delaware Senate passing an online gaming bill, we have a nice shot at other states following AND at the federal government getting prodded into action. Let's keep pushing both sides forward!
  1. Let's send prefilled, fully editable tweets to Sen Reid, Sen. Kyl, and Sen. McConnell: HERE, HERE, and HERE
  2. Let's send the House Subcommittee for Commerce, Manufacturing, and Trade members these prefilled, editable tweets requesting a markup for HR 2366, reminding them that states won't wait for them: HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, and HERE.
  3. Let's send a prefilled tweet promoting today's action plan HERE (or retweet HERE), and let's share the action on our own Facebook walls HERE and via Google+ HERE.

Most of the casino's no longer oppose online poker (that was not always true). But we still have one huge opponent, Sheldon Adelson, who is on a mission to buy the presidency.

Adelson makes 1.9 million an hour
, most of it not taxed.

A boycott of Adelson's casinos was called for last December. He is the chairman and chief executive officer of the Las Vegas Sands Corporation, the parent company of Venetian Macao Limited which operates The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino and the Sands Expo and Convention Center.

Surprised you didn't notice that some of the Daily Action Plans here also call for tweeting Adelson's properties to express our displeasure with his self-serving, hypocritical anti-poker stance.

Hi everyone! I hope everyone will consider participating in this daily poker action plan each day, as it is an easy way for us to magnify our individual voices. These items take just a few minutes to complete, so we can all do these quite quickly and painlessly. Thanks!

  • Let's send the prewritten, fully editable PPA member letter to Congress and the White House HERE and to state lawmakers HERE (or click the buttons below). This takes less than 60 seconds! It's very important that your lawmakers know you demand your right to play, so let's all send this out now:

how much do you make? who do you work for besides ppa?

the point of boycotting is solidarity to all poker players...regardless of where they play...

only when all players stop playing will things get better for usa players...

imagine if row players stopped playing at pokerstars? you don't think that would affect change?

who do you really work for if you don't believe a boycott is the answer?

LOL. I don't work for or get paid by anyone for advocating poker. Just a cc member like you and a casual poker player who hates what the DOJ and Congress has done to limit our ability to play poker.

Rich Muny is the VP of Player Relations for the PPA and was previously a professional poker player.

Please explain how boycotting pokerstars would have any effect on the U.S. Congress or the DOJ? The DOJ seized stars, ftp and ap web sites as well as millions of players $ from payment processors in an attempt to shut them down. Congress is responsible for passing the onerous UIGEA which started this whole mess.

As I stated previously, a boycott of Adelson's properties was called for and supported by the PPA. Not that Adelson gives a shit about a few poker players since he's the 5th richest person in the U.S.

Being argumentative won't make your terrible idea any less terrible. Sorry, but the AGA supports us, as do many B&Ms. Boycotting supportive cardrooms and casinos won't disappoint anti-gaming tyes on the Hill by any means. It would make them quite happy, actually.

Sorry, but this is a hard fight. There isn't some easy shortcut and not everyone has the stomach for it. If you want poker players to show solidarity, work to help organize them into a group telling lawmakers that they demand the right to play. Have them speak out against casinos that actually oppose us. That's what it takes.

Wow - that is the dumbest question ever. Nobody has the power to do that - not that they would want to if they did. Did you even think for a second before typing that??

I have been liking and mailing, and although I dont always update with "done" (so, just assume "done" where I can) I do participate.

I get generic responses from senators, I posted one, like "Thank you so much for you email. I will definitely consider this when the subject comes up" type of bla
bla bla....

To come down on TheEngineer, (sorry Rich, but you are TE here...lol) and to try to put him up against the wall, is beyond my understanding. Dont you see - well, most do, but the one(s) who dont - that he is on our side and trying to implement realistic ways to get poker players rights, wishes, and goals to a place where they can be perhaps heard by the right people at the right time?

And, seriously, do you really think that is easy? At least it can be appreciated.

And to accuse CYA of an agenda, well, lmao....

Let's keep pushing for our freedoms! With Delaware passing an online gaming bill, we have a nice shot at other states following AND at the federal government getting prodded into action. Let's keep pushing both sides forward, starting by reminding that his state risks getting shut out of online poker -- just as they were shut out of B&M sports betting -- if they keep refusing to pass online poker legislation!
  1. Let's send Gov. Christie a prefilled, editable tweet in support of New Jersey's proposed legislation (S 1565) HERE. Let's reach out via Facebook HERE as well. We want to keep the states pushing Congress and Congress pushing the states.

  2. Let's send a prefilled tweet promoting today's action plan HERE (or retweet HERE), and let's share the action on our own Facebook walls HERE and via Google+ HERE.
If you've not yet done Monday's action plan, please do that as well:
  1. Let's send prefilled, fully editable tweets to Sen Reid, Sen. Kyl, and Sen. McConnell: HERE, HERE, and HERE
  2. Let's send the Senate Indian Affairs Committee members these tweets: HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, and HERE.
