I have been a little chagrined that for whatever reason pokerstars/ the European Poker Tour did not bother streaming the past weeks events which were co-sponsored with the United Kingdom Poker Tour (which included a high roller won by Martin Jacobson for example).

However, the EPT $5K Main Event kicks off today from the Hilton Park Lane and is being streamed until conclusion.

Watched some of it last night, and it was nice to see some live poker, where people are focusing on playing well rather than entertaining viewers ;)

Down to the two tables and the final 16.

Notables left - Ben Heath, Jack Sinclair and Benjamin Pollak and Erik Seidel.

I really enjoy high roller events but naturally, they are much smaller fields even if very competitive. However, I really like the top pros that play main events with much deeper fields. You always see the likes of Steve O'Dwyer, David Peters and Sam Greenwood enter the main events and I take it these guys are the ones with the deepest passion for the game. So great to see four of them in the final 16.

Yeah, it's funny. Though I like watching live streams of cash games nothing, and I mean nothing compares with watching a main event play over days until it reaches a conclusion. The focus and determination to even reach a FT is awesome.

Additionally, for me, there is something really special about watching the European Tour Events - the presentation and set design, the commentary team of Joe Stapleton, James Hartigan, Maria Ho, Griffin Benger and guests, the euro-centric fields which are drawn and of course the locations. London returning to the roster was great but I am also excited that Prague is back in December (7 to 18th) also. Christmas does not quite feel like Christmas without EPT Prague getting everyone in the mood!

Yeah, watching the stream was a joy when I arrived home after work (or even during work :D ). I am looking forward to the final table and then to WSOPE after this.

Final six play out tomorrow evening...I am rooting for Jack Sinclair!

The title of this stream is a little misleading - it actually features play from the final 16 down to 6...which came on the last hand of the day!

Dad/bad joke of the day courtesy of Griffin Benger. What happens to a bad rainbow? Prism. Don't worry, it's a light sentence.

Wonderful final table with two UK players heads up for the title, Ian Hamilton and Jack Sinclair.

Chip lead went back and forth and the final hand was a classic...but won't spoil it for anyone who wants to catch up with the final stream! Great tourney!

I watched every days coverage brought to us by the pokerstars live team consisting of James Hartigan, Griffin Benger, Maria Ho and Joe Stapleton and it was a superb tournament.

My one disappointment however was the lack of atmosphere on the rail all through the tourney and especially heads up which was an epic display of power poker once Hamilton got himself back on level terms with Jack Sinclair, having rooted for Sinclair all week as i thought he was the dominant force, i really think Ian Hamilton was amazing - he clearly worked out a strategy to play Jack who is known for his aggressive HU play and Ham switched gears to scoop that amazing £664,400 tax free first prize and the prestigious EPT trophy!
