I think you're referring to WPTglobal (not ClubWPTglobal).

Personally, today I wouldn't deposit to either one. What was hyped up to be the next great online poker site (WPTglobal) hasn't even come close. I'm surprised to see it still operating to be honest.
Put your poker money elsewhere imo.

Not sure why they are getting hate. I think it's a great poker room with good software. Way better than global poker mainly because it has way more players.

From what I've seen, I don't think it's hate. It's caution.

It's new and the concern I'm seeing on social media has to do with taxes through sweepstakes. Because different states in the US deal with taxes from sweepstakes a different way. Some are worried that taxes (normally when you make above $600 or so, depending on the time) are deducted straight from your winnings without regard to possible losses. Say, you deposited $1000, and lost that $1000. Then you deposited another $1000 and won $1000. Even though you would now be even, you may still be taxed on your winnings of $1000, without considering your losses.

There have been some debate over this on social media, while ClubWPTGold hasn't given a clear answer, because they said they cannot give tax advice and to consult a tax professional about that, because every state is different. There are some states that you can still treat wins/losses as a whole for the year for tax purposes, even as it's listed as a sweepstakes.

As for the games, personally, I'm enjoying them. I only play the MTTs though. Won a few tickets, but haven't cashed anything yet. And I've only played the low buy-in MTTs using the daily SCs I get. The play is very soft at that level right now.

I just signed up. You have to send it documentation that you are you (Basically a driver's license and a pic of yourself) through your smartphone. After it's all verified, it says you have signed up and they will contact you once ClubWPTGold has launched.

I play on my PC. I don't play ClubWPTGold on my phone. It just requires a phone number that can receive texts to sign up, because they send you a code every time you log in.

I never played on the regular WPT Global site before, so I can't compare to it. But it does use Sweeps Coins and is available in a lot of US States. Not available in Nevada, though. And maybe not available in most states that allow regular online poker. But, I think Club WPT Gold is mostly for those states that can't play the regular games. It's a decent alternative, but if you play in a state that allows regular online poker, other sites might be better. I've been playing on Club WPT Gold, and after I've been playing on it awhile, I'll say that it's alright. I haven't deposited anything yet, and have been trying to build SCs (Sweeps Coins) from the micro MTTs and Daily Logins, which I raised my SCs up a bit, but then they dropped again.

I will say that Club WPT Gold seems to be decent for the casual rec player. If you're trying to use it as extra income, this is not the site for you and you can only 1-table, also.

I don't think the site operates like that. They host their own games and don't have any 3rd parties like CardsChat to host games.. at least not right now.

Thanks for the reply! I haven't played on any of the WPT sites either. I think there is a WPT Global and also, an unaffiliated Global Poker. I play on Global Poker some, and it uses Sweeps Coins. As far as I know, there is no affiliation with WPT or WPT Global brands. It is very confusing!

It sounds like WPT Gold works in much the same way as Global Poker, with the sweeps coins (SC). They also have daily login bonuses like I see you have mentioned for WPT Gold.

Oops my bad. You are correct, there is a Global Poker and WPT Global. I got a little confused with that, too. I haven't played on either of those sites before.

I can't play on WPT Gold at the moment as my ID just expired. I also don't have a webcam on my PC and am not comfortable with giving access to my phones camera.

The 1 table only thing for WPT Gold sounds HORRIBLE. lol. I'm assuming that's going to change down the road and it's more of a soft launch type of deal.

They just randomly eliminated the Daily Login bonuses... that is pretty lame. You would get 0.25 SCs per login for 4 days in a row. Then 0.50 SCs for Days 5 and 6. And 1 SC for Day 7 in a row, then it would reset. Those are good for some of the smaller MTTs. But seems they are no longer. I heard other changes made like raising the buy-in for cash games. I don't think I'll be playing on the site much longer. I think for the foreseeable future, I'll be sticking with CardsChat games and will just have to play more Freerolls here.
