Maybe he enjoys the sport and competition of the game - I doubt very much it would have much to do with earning/winning money
Maybe he is riding the wave of success and notoriety given he has a ridiculous number of fans. Those same fans may want to give poker a go whether live or online - all marketing.
Just a couple of thoughts.
