One of the most legendary poker players in the history of the game, Doyle Brunson, at the end of his ninth decade, will still get a film adaptation of his life. Radar Pictures (i) has secured the film rights to Brunson's story, which will be based on his 2009 autobiography, The Godfather of Poker. The film will be written by once-professional poker player Justin Smith, who has 11 production projects under his belt (though not of the very first magnitude). “I personally played poker with Doyle at the highest stakes, and I am honored to help tell his story, and show the environment in detail from the inside,” Smith said after being appointed to the screenwriter position. So far, the tape is at a very early stage development, before launching into production, the finished script will be read and personally approved by Brunson.

Very interesting. I definitely would watch it. I'm especially interested in seeing the early days. Also his perception of the evolution of poker and players. One thing I think I share with him is the time some players take to make a decision. A big one is one thing but every frickin action? Ticks me off!

That's very nice. Doyle Brunson is one of my favorite poker players. I think the actor Dann Florek would be a good choice, at least I think there are some resemblance between them.

I'm not really familiar with these pros since I started watching the ones that are popular now well younger than Doyle so I think it will be interesting to watch.
