I like Nathan Williams he is a great teacher but he like other gurus has a vested interest in defending the legitimacy of online poker.

The way guys like this completely dismiss any concerns as to not harm their brand/sponsors is a bit like a politician who tells you the drinking water is clean as he owns shares in the company. To deny any corruption at all in an industry awash with cash and computer program backdoors is either naive or nefarious.

I understand if we talk about the likes of Pot Ripper, Ultimate bet and the Stealth observer program it might deter new players so I totally get why people just pretend it either never happened or just went away. Bad beats happen in all walks of life though not just online poker.

I enjoyed the video. I've got bad beats at almost every tournament.

This RNG can’t be helped with it, you just have to be patient, but sometimes they reach us too

A bad beat is part of poker, if you don't need a bad beat don't play poker. It's simple;)

it is exactly what he says
if you see videos of live poker you can see that there is a lot of bad beat
it is part of the game that's all

That simply doesn't happen 'every time'. It happens very few times actually. The other times he'll miss that runner runner straight or w/e draw and you can make bank.

Your brain is wired in such a way that it remembers such bad beat situations vividly. People get emotional about such bad beats which in turn enhances that vivid memory of such events. The truth however is you win in that situation way more then you lose to a runner runner bad beat, your brain simply isn't capable of seeing that over the badbeat memories. That doesn't mean it ain't there, your brain is simply fooling you.

The statistics are evidently clear on that, learn to trust on the numbers instead of the feeling from that bad beat. It'll help you stay focused, and actually be happy you found a huge fish on your table.

You see many more hands online than live so it probably feels like more bad beats. Obv we recall the unlucky ones more than the lucky ones.

Simple:
You play faster and multitable = way more more hands than live = much more badbeats

I played only one live tournament in my life and got two bad beats in a row, so I don't think the problem is online poker.

The problem could be me or maybe you, or both of us.

Hello everyone.
I think that online poker has as many bad beats for one hundred hands as a real poker.
Online poker is just more quick and this can make such illusions.

It’s just how the game is unfortunately. Also the fact you see and play more hands per hour in online poker vs live poker makes it seem bad beats are more frequent. Percentage wise it’s the same. You just see less hands in live
