I don't have a set limit, but I know how much on average I could reach, normally when I win 15 to 20 dollars I stop, because I won't have enough time to continue playing, when I win that's in spin and go, I mean I win and lose “quickly”

I don't have a daily target. What's the difference between loosing or winning today or tomorrow or next week?
I play poker so loosing money will take some time & have more time of fun. Its my fav gambling game.
Only 1% would be lucky to win in the long term so just chase short term gains & bunch of fun.
Why would you stop? Because you're loosing money? Should just stop gambling all together & just play chess.

One of the serious responses I received till now. Not sure if that 1% is exactly right but you are somewhere near to the actual numbers. Being realistic and enjoying the game may not always occur simultaneously but kudos to you on how you are approaching the game.

Don't give up! Continue your grind. Don't let one bad session put you down. That's poker, some days you play well and still loose. Focus on playing well and improving your game.

You should probably set a target goal and create barriers to protect yourself from overplaying it.
But I've once saw a professional saying that, if you're having a bad day, nothing matching, bad beats, you should quit the day early.
On the other hand, if you're hitting good and everything is coming your way, you should keep playing to capitalize on your luck.

I guess the mid term is like: if your target is 50 dollars a day and you reached like 55 dollars already. Separate 5 dollars if you're going to keep playing and save the rest if you're going to keep playing. This way you protect yourself from the table swings I guess.

Anyhow, Poker is a game of good and bad decisions. Aways good to remember, as you start to get tired, your probability of making good calls will be lower and lower.

Do you keep daily/ session targets and stop when you achieve it?

On a miserable day, I won 7$ in a freeroll, when on to play NLH reached up to 38$ and lost all of them playing AK vs AJ with the later getting straight with K on the river… 😒
You have to stop when you get into a losing streak, and I was often not disciplined and that ended disastrously.

I think it depends on what your goal is. If you want just have fun and dreaming of becoming rich in 1 night, keep trying and u will have strong ups and downs and maybe 1 in a million chance to win a lot money. But in 99,999% of cases it recommend you to play with limits. Try to build a bankroll like for example 100 $ and never play more then 5% of your bankroll. This really is a key value of becoming a professional player. If you ask me why then i might tell you that every professional player like Fedor Holz always trade their buyins or get sponsored. Therefore they dont have this "stress" of loosing money. Poker is a psychological game and you have to master this skill for becoming a long term winner.

Stop when you want to, just like you go to sleep when yiu want to. I usually play cash games, so I can push myself away from the table at a moments notice. Tournaments, not so much.

Stop when you are ahead, take small wins out of your account, eventually it all adds up.

You should stop gambling when you've lost enough to reach your predetermined loss limit, your mental state is compromised (tilt, fatigue, hunger), the game itself becomes unfavorable or you're making emotional decisions. Therefore, discipline is important.

I usually follow my full session according to plan, only checking in halfway through to see if I'll play the last tournaments or not, depending on fatigue, the need to focus on other tournaments, or even just because I'm exhausted.

But I always play until the halfway point. For example, I start the session at 2:00 PM. Many tournaments last almost 8 hours, so theoretically, my session runs until 10:00 PM, so around 5:00 PM, I check in. If it's positive, I check in with everyone who's in the plan until 7:00 PM.

And one thing I think is most important of all is having a day COMPLETELY OFF POKER, to enjoy family and friends, and clear my head.

i honestly believe the algorythm is programmed to let you run it up and then give you big losses to entice you to put in money, but im through with deposits for sure
