What can we do to prevent RTA?

I am just trying to think of ways that poker sites can determine if a player is using real time assistance. Maybe poker sites can detect it through looking at player history, but this seems very subjective. I would say there is probably some type of software that can prevent RTA, but I am afraid it will be intrusive on peoples computers. I have even heard suggestions that people use a webcam while playing, and while this might be fun for some people I would find it wayyy to intrusive personally.

Bots. Till this winter I played mainly at pokerstars. Their security is 2nd to no one. Now I'm GG till at least spring hoping the poker options improve. Currently they all kinda suck for different reasons.

Solver. I have no idea how a site would combat that. They could cut decision making time down to the min. That way guys wouldn't have time to input the hand and run it thru the solver. <-----I'm in favor of this. It does have one huge downside as it would really hurt the avg rec who never thinks 1-2 steps ahead and already knows what he's gonna likely do next depending on what villain does.

I'm all for better KYC. Which would help both issues.

Cam is a no for me.

I don’t care about RTA. It won’t work midstakes and on the Nosebleed tables.
PokerStars don’t allow RTA. Playing with any form of helping software is poof.

You don't need to think much.
As soon as you open any poker site client, it scans your computer for any "Prohibited" software while loading. If it finds any, it'll prompt you to uninstall it and gives you a warning.
However, every site has a list of permitted Apps you can use together with their software.

You're not wrong. Bots(as they get better) and collusion in my opinion are the two biggest problems in my mind. Bots have been around quite awhile(at least 15+ years) now but have mostly been meh, easy spot and easy to handle. Collusion I see as almost impossible to combat or at least very hard to stop. How do you stop 2-4 guys at a full-ring cash table if they're talking on the phone or using discord or another messaging app? While not invading the avg joes privacy and turning him off poker all together.

I think as bots get better AI and the tools sites use to detect them will get better. So I'm not worried about bots as much. It's all about being knowledgeable and choosing the site you play at wisely. Which the vast majority of players are currently completely failing at that. Which is sad.

About 15 years ago PokerStars detected a collusion by players from communist China. I gather that the crooks are much more sophisticated today.

I think it is necessary a (really good ) software like anti-cheat used in several other online games

I remember that. I don't think it was ever disclosed how they detected it. I would imagine they are.

As I said before Pokerstar's security is second to no one and far better then anyone's. It's not even close.

Absolutely agree. PokerStars has by far the best pedigree.

This has been the case for over 10 years and can't be stopped. Sad but true.

That would defeat the purpose. By the time you enter all the needed data on your other device, your turn to act would expire on the computer you're playing on.

I don't think RTA is a problem at low and microstakes. The games are way off GTO anyway so it's not that useful, plus most regs are multitabling and don't have the time.
