What percentage of luck vs skill do you think is involved in NLH Poker?

There is 2 categories.

Online Poker - 90% luck and 10% skill.
Live Poker - 70% luck and 30% skill.

depends on the format.

Short stack and or rapid blind increases, it ends up being luck 90%+. If I do a free role and forget to turn up, I'm usually top 30%.

Slow blind increases and/or deep stack, you can put a lot more skill into it. The donkeys will soon get eliminated. In that case skill comes a lot more important but there is still some luck.

If you play freerolls, then luck probably plays the main role, because people call with any trash and without luck your skills won’t help you there. But when it comes to real money games, it’s the other way around – that’s where skill matters most.

25% luck vs 75% skill should be manageable.

Honestly, I think it depends on how you look at it. In one tournament or one night of cash games, luck feels huge — maybe like 70% — because a single flip or cooler can send you home. But if you stick with it over the long run, skill takes over. The good players keep winning because they make better decisions over and over, so maybe then it’s more like 70% skill. Short term it’s luck, long term it’s definitely skill.

To be at the top and be at your best you have to put the work in.
So all these professionals that go win in tournaments etc
They don't do these things by luck YES of course they may get some luck along the way, but the amount of hours they put in there is definitely a massive element of skill that goes in to the game

For live poker: 60% skill + 40% luck.
online poker: 10% lack of luck + 15% skill + 75% rigged system.

If we're doing random percentages, I vote for at least making them somewhat reasonable. Like 95% luck online and 90% live, maybe. If poker were anywhere close to 50% skill in any one hand, no bad players would ever play and the entire game would have never become popular.

IMO the percentage depends on the stakes.
When you play a freeroll or a micro buy-in tourney, luck is the most important thing.

So on the short term luck is essential .

But on the long term I would say the percentage is about 60% skills and 40% luck
