I tend to play tournaments over cash but no I would not pick a room over a bad beat jackpot. While winning one would be really great the odds are not really in our favor and just takes money out of the hands we win to feed the jackpot.
It would be nice if it were also on pokerstars, but you can play without it.
By the way, if I played just for that, I wouldn't win anyway. If you want something too badly (too tight), you won't get it anyway.
I rarely play NLH cash games, so, I don't play in a specific room only for the jackpot. But If I did play NLH cash games, I think if a room offers jackpot is definitely an extra.
It's a very nice extra to have. Sure it takes from the hands everybody plays to be able to pay them, but on an individual level you won't notice this in your bankroll.
I happen to have won a bad beat jackpot about a month or 2 ago on the 2nd or 3rd day I started to play for cash again at 2NL after a few years off. Absolutely brilliant. The hand was badly played by me though, AAA on the board and I was holding JJ. I knew I was beat by probably a higher pocket pair and contemplated folding vs a shove. I pressed call because I couldn't lay them down knewing I would most likely lose. Villain showed QQ and I got a huge surprise by the existence of a bad beat jackpot. Big boost to the BR. Never seen it happen before or after that on my table.
I play a lot of cash poker and I can say that if there is a jackpot, it's very good. Although there is very little chance that you will get it, if you do, you will win a lot of money. During this period I've been playing, I've never won a jackpot, but I was at the table when my opponents won it and I got a few hundred dollars. Not much but nice)
Not really but I appreciate the opportunity to make a little extra from bad-beat jp's. I've benefitted from it in a brick & mortar room so why not online, right? I think it would be beneficial to rooms and players if more rooms offered this feature.
if they had one , i believe i would have won it sooner or later . i know its hard with many players competing for the same prize , buy with so many bad beats against me , i believe i would have some better odds , me and some others , against the rest .
so many bad beats , especially against poker room's bots , then you will lose , no matter what you have in your hole cards . then '' it is your destiny '' to lose (Darth Vader voice lol )
And why not. One day, the players who often receive bad beats will be able to tip the scales on their side. Even if the chance of such jackpots is small.
