I listed some points that I'm considering mentioning to analyze online gaming a bit. I know not all statements are explained, and at the same time, they can generate various viewpoints on the topic. However, it could be interesting for the debate and analysis of the game

Pros:
  1. Accessibility: You can play from anywhere and at any time, as long as you have access to an internet connection.
  2. Game Variety: Online poker platforms offer a wide range of poker variants, from Texas Hold'em to Omaha and Stud, allowing you to experience different playing styles.
  3. Stake Levels: Tables are available for players of all levels, from beginners to experts, with various betting options.
  4. Multitabling: In online poker, you can play at multiple tables simultaneously, providing you with the opportunity to increase your potential winnings.
  5. Bonuses and Rewards: Many platforms offer bonuses, promotions, and loyalty programs that can boost your bankroll.
  6. Relative Anonymity: You can keep your identity anonymous if you prefer, potentially reducing the impact of opponents' reads on your playing style.
  7. Statistics and Tracking: Online platforms often provide detailed statistics about your performance, which can help you improve your game over time.
Cons:
  1. Risk of Addiction: Constant accessibility and the ability to play at any time can lead to gambling addiction issues in some individuals.
  2. Less Social Interaction: Unlike live poker, online poker lacks direct social interaction, which can diminish part of the experience.
  3. Higher Cheating Risk: There's a possibility that some players might use cheating software or collusion to gain an unfair advantage.
  4. Difficulty Reading Opponents: The absence of physical body language and cues online makes it challenging to read your opponents, which could impact decision-making.
  5. Technical Issues: Connection interruptions or technical glitches can disrupt a hand or gaming session, leading to frustration.
  6. Platform Dependence: You're reliant on the reliability and security of the online platform you're playing on.
  7. Faster Pace: Online play tends to be faster than live play, which could increase pressure and make careful decision-making more difficult.
  8. Regulations and Legality: Depending on your location, online poker might be subject to uncertain legal regulations or restrictions.
It's your turn now. Comment on this thread with any observations about what has been mentioned already, or any pros and cons you think should be added. I'll read them all! 🍀

While I prefer to play live over online, the biggest PRO for online poker is I can play at a cost I can afford. Even before Covid hit but even more now the cost to play in any tournaments has really gotten so high that many players like me can no longer afford to play live tournaments. The cheapest live tournaments in the casinos in a hundred-mile range is $200.00.

I like to play online more, I don't have much time available and can only ever play in the evenings. I don't have to drive somewhere online and pay expensive entry fees. Playing live is very expensive. Online, thanks to Cardschat, I can play freerolls almost every day at a very nice time for me.

Cons 4 and 5 are my favourite reasons for playing low stakes On-line, I simply do not trust the Technical Issues that can and do arise, I don't mind losing money in Live games as I can see where it is going, but if the Power suddenly goes off, It is soul destroying to lose money without it being your own fault.
As for reading players, we are all in the same boat there, but I do rely on my instincts more On-line as I can usually spot things in Live games in players mannerisms and body language.

Good point, thanks for commenting. It's important that tournament schedules align with your free time.

What you mentioned about electricity is quite common in the area where I live. The service is very unreliable, and I've already been knocked out of the game for that reason. I agree with the rest of what you said. Regards.

Hello everyone:)
For me, I love playing both.
As for the difference between them, it is the place, time, and the skill of body language, as we can play online poker at any time and place, unlike live poker, as we adhere to specific dates and places and the high cost.
Online poker has become more popular than live poker, as most professionals also play online.
For me, I see that there is little difference in the randomness of the distribution in online poker, but the latter cannot affect the extent of our mastery of the game, especially in the most famous and reliable poker rooms.

I completely agree with you. The versatility and convenience of online poker are undeniable, as it allows us to play anywhere and at any time. Furthermore, the fact that so many professionals play online reflects the increasing popularity of this format.

Another pro of online poker is that you do not have to worry about giving off live tells.

If you are not talking the only real online tell is timing.

Less Social Interaction: Unlike live poker, online poker lacks direct social interaction, which can diminish part of the experience.
I'm not shure about that; There have been moments where I've laughed like a moron (online).
Difficulty Reading Opponents: The absence of physical body language and cues online makes it challenging to read your opponents, which could impact decision-making.
You never know.
Technical Issues: Connection interruptions or technical glitches can disrupt a hand or gaming session, leading to frustration.
This is very irritating... especially with a large pot.

Since I can't think of pluses, I'll add one minus: playing online can lead to immobilization.

Good thread. I do believe anyone who hasn't tried Live Poker, to certainly give it a go. It's a very immersive experience and makes you really feel the pressure of them tough spots. Quite a skill to bring your online skill/variance to a live table.

I'm UK based and we have lots of pub leagues in small venues to get people out playing poker and experiencing it. It's brilliant in my eyes. What else what you do at 8pm on a Monday night.

I think that online poker is available to a larger number of players and participation in tournaments is determined by the player himself, based on his financial capabilities and, in addition, home comfort, which is unrivaled.

Now I think that online poker is already overtaking offline tournaments with its amenities and playing a lot of election tournaments anywhere is the best thing a person needs. The only thing that it won't give like an offline tournament is such emotions when you win an offline tournament I think it's impossible to give an online tournament

It can be a positive aspect, as you mentioned.
Pros: Other than convenience, free rolls and to kill time not a whole lot
Cons: Cheaters, Bots, House Players etc...Don't take it to seriously
It sounds like you're having the most thrilling online poker experience of your life.
I'm not shure about that; There have been moments where I've laughed like a moron (online).

Haha, watch out for that downside. Thanks for commenting!

Interesting that those leagues exist. Thank you for your input. Regards

Indeed, those are very positive aspects of online poker. Thank you for your contribution.

They are different experiences, that's what makes it interesting to evaluate. Thanks for commenting. Greetings!

Pros:
There is always someone to play with from all over the world.
Freerolls gives you a free chance to build a stack.
You can send a missile on an opponent that is out of line without starting a real war.

Cons:If internet connection breaks down it doesnt mather if you are a world champion you still cant win.

I agree with everything that was said above.
About the part of becoming addicted to OnLine Poker: Yes it happened to me. But with the years, I think I have a handle on it now.
