I particularly like to play poker, whether on any platform while watching a movie. Since it's generally a bit slow game, then a movie or series goes really well, so I don't even see the time going by.

I always do it this way — I play poker and watch a series at the same time using picture-in-picture mode on one monitor. I’ll need to buy a second monitor for more convenience.

It goes without saying that you need to be focused and attentive. Of course, it depends on the movie. If it's an interesting movie that you really wanted to see, you'll be constantly distracted by it. Sometimes I turn on an old TV series that I've already seen to keep the apartment not quiet. If you're a fan of adult videos and porn, it's unlikely that you'll be able to play poker and jerk off at the same time.

Because then i can't focus on the game neither can I pickup tells on players.

This definitely is a no no situation for me. I would be to distracted to concentrate.

Feels more like the reverse. Can't help it... that is watching vids or movies while playing poker. During down time, I like watching youtube vids or movies but then feels the urge to play poker & so opens a poker table on the side. When it runs deep, time to focus on the game & pause the video to continue after the game.

I watch mostly youtube videos of some guy reviewing something like hotels or watches etc. on second screen. Watching movies is worthless as you can skip parts of the movies, The only movie allowed is Rounders.

Interesting take! Personally, I’m the opposite — I like to give poker my full attention when I’m playing. Even though the game can feel slow at times, I find that staying 100% focused helps me pick up on patterns, betting tendencies, and table dynamics that I might miss otherwise.

Especially in tournaments, one or two key decisions can make a huge difference, and I feel that distractions — even a good movie — can cost me chips or spots. I actually enjoy the thinking process and staying zoned in, kind of like a mental workout.

Sometimes I do this too, but only when there is only one screen left for me to play, if I have at least 2 screens open then I no longer watch anything and only pay attention to the game

I actually prefer playing poker while walking on the treadmill! It might sound unusual, but the light physical activity really helps me stay focused and alert. I’ve found that when my body is active, my mind doesn’t wander as much, and I make better decisions.

Of course, I keep the speed slow enough to stay steady, especially when I’m in a hand — but it’s a great way to mix health and poker. Plus, it keeps me from tilting since I'm releasing some energy as I play.

I stick to listening to music. If I am trying to watch the TV and play poker, I can't focus on both and end up losing track of what is going on - both on the TV and with the poker.

but after missing premium hands a few times during exciting scenes,
I switched to audio content like radio and podcasts instead.

When there is a serious game, I focus only on the game. When I play at low stakes or in freerolls, I often watch some sports broadcast during the game.
