I certainly see plenty of Swedish players but they are mostly fish (no offense guys!)
Thats just the way, online poker works. In a low income country like Belarus or Vietnam few people have extra money for recreational gambling, so most of the "net depositing players" AKA fish come from high income countries like sweden or canada. Which is also why, the loss of the US market after "Black Friday" in 2011 was so detrimental to online poker.

I live in Sweden and the government have taken over online poker. We dont have freerolls on ps and many other sites witch is sad because we beginners maybe dont want to spend hundread of dollars just to learn or play for fun. Its more complicated to cash out and deposit money, swedish banks deny to deposit or cash out.
What are your thoughts? :)
shame your goverment. its should be legal in every country

Online poker is completely legal in Sweden, but operators need to aquire a license and follow certain rules, which among other things limit them to offer a one-time sign-up bonus. The idea behind this is to protect people with gambling problems, who might feel tempted to play more, if there are freerolls or challenges or leaderboards etc.

And lets be honest now. Sites only offer those things, because they hope, they will create more activity. So the swedish government actually has a point. It just sucks for people playing from Sweden, that we need to pay rake to finance promotions targeted at other markets. For us it would be better, if sites would scrap freerolls and other promotions and instead lower their rake.
