luck is needed no matter what hand you play. I have been entering step satellites on gg poker lately. In the last 3 weeks I have played 24 x $2.50 buy ins to win a seat and recorded hand that busted me. Of the 24 satellites zero wins. 17 of the 24 times I busted out I had the best hand going in and lost all 17. Also didn't have luck with the ones I was behind because I lost those races also. Hand like top set with a dry board and I lose again. My last one was flopping nut straight and AKQJ10. Villain called all in with J2 suited and went runner runner to beat me with flush. Whoever said getting it in good would reward you is bs. I blame the shove bingo that these satellite's are and really really bad luck. I am so tired i am walking away from poker for a good long while.
I have been playing poker for 25 years and crushed poker stars tournaments with a long line of wins and on gg I cant win
Skill is not involved when the cards are being dealt, since you do not know what cards you will get.
Skill is also not necessary when deciding preflop to push or call an all-in, since many players (good or bad) can and do with any two cards.
Skill is not a factor when two players are all in preflop since it is strictly luck with no decision to be made postflop.
However, skill is required in many other situations when deciding how to play your hand.
Can you really calculate the percentage of luck vs. skill with all the possibilities abound?
My poker is luck yes, but you can “shape” that luck in your favor, or at least appear to be lucky when you go all in with nothing, of course, in a thoughtful, calculated and meaningful way
