So heads up online my oppent just could not lose no matter what great cards I hit the flop turn and river with. So I decided to get my own pack of playing cards,do a little experiment and speed play with my misses, 1st game she had trip 4's but I beat her with a 23456.. I went on to win 8 out of 10. It's just a case of online my opponent ran hot and live I ran hot. Nothing rigged in either. In that 1st hand any skillful player would have thought they had me beat with the trips because the straight was so hidden. Game is all hugly dependant on luck. But agree that playing skillful tricks and traps (because tricks and traps is essentially what skill is) and without tilt is essential to making money.

Outsmarting an opponent in thinking is skill. Sometimes it can be a lucky day, sometimes outside programs help online. Unfortunately, there are things that do not depend on us.

Poker decisions are made over an infinite timeline because probabilities can take a very long time to converge on the expected outcome. The sample you provided is minute and doesn't really prove anything. But I agree, it's not rigged.

You can run bad for longer than you ever thought possible.

Also the game is mostly skill, the "luck" is what gives the bad players the illusion they can win money against the good players which is what the poker economy runs on.

Hmm doubt OP shuffling a bunch of cards will be enough proof to calm anyone who truly thinks the game is rigged. But ok, nice Experiment.

The main skill in poker is value betting, not trapping! Mostly we should stop trapping! The thing with trapping is that it relies, most likely on an opponent also having a good hand, in which case they would likely call a good sized value bet! Yes sometimes they will bluff, but many players simply won't and this is leaving amounts of chips on the table!

The skill is not "tricks and traps". Well, perhaps a little part of it. The skill is making correct decissions. And I do not mean "lucky" decissions, just correct ones. Mathematically correct, hand-reading correct, exploitatively correct. This is what makes the difference long term. The sample of 10, 100 or 1000 hands does not prove anything, except that the variance is present in poker.

I’ve noticed there are days in online poker when you just get outplayed with any hand, no matter what you do. On days like that, I usually stay away from real money games and focus on freerolls instead — and I’d suggest others do the same, because otherwise you risk dumping your whole balance.
