Hey everyone!

I’m still pretty new to both CardsChat and poker strategy in general, and I’ve been reading a lot about bankroll management.

Since I mostly play micro stakes games (both cash and tournaments), I’m wondering what kind of bankroll strategy you would recommend for someone at my level.

How many buy-ins do you usually keep for MTTs or cash games?

Any tips on how to handle downswings at low stakes would also be really appreciated!

Thanks in advance for any advice. Good luck at the tables!

For cash games, 30–50 buy-ins is solid. For MTTs, aim for 100+ due to higher variance. Always play within your roll and move down if needed. Bankroll discipline keeps you in the game long enough to let skill shine.

I think it depends on whether poker is your only source of income or if you have something else on the side.
I always try to maintain a bankroll cushion and, every now and then, I play a satellite to take a shot at higher buy-in tournaments.

Personally, in micro-limit cash games, 10 buy-ins were enough for me to get going.
