Hi everyone!

I recently started learning poker and so far I’ve been focusing on which hands to play from each position (UTG, MP, CO, etc.). I more or less understand the basic preflop ranges and I try to only play those hands.

I’m wondering – is it a good idea to stick strictly to those starting hands as a beginner?

Also, if anyone has recommendations on where to continue learning (like postflop play, bluffing, value betting, etc.), I’d really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance!

Keep in mind that the pre flop charts are a guide. It’s important to know why these hands are playable from each position, chip stack depths and different types of opponents and how many opponents are in the hand. Keep studying. I would recommend studying every common spot you are going to find yourself in and get that mastered. Then branch off from there. You will find the more you study the more questions you will have. Keep finding the answers and you will do great!
Good luck!

Don't try to do a lot of giveaways at once. You'd better focus on learning games and analyzing every luck.

That's a wonderful thing in itself. It's far more admirable than those who decide on their own rules from the beginning and then change them on the spot.
