The best thing you can do to prevent this is to be a disciplined player and always stick to bankroll management. If you play with money you can afford to lose, the game will only bring you positive emotions. Being disciplined is difficult, but it's the only thing that can save you from another disappointment.

When we are upset, we are not tilted. We are tilted when we are filled with negative emotions.Acknowledge the fact that in this game the opponent was better due to his actions.Get angry and call your opponent all the obscene words. In this case, we do not make any inputs, which means that the next time we meet the same opponent, with a high degree of probability we will lose again.

In addition to the CC article a good tip for tournament players is to cut your session short, if you lose multible games in a row. Another tip is to slow down by playing less tables and avoid fast-fold games like Zoom. This is because, the more hands per hour, you are dealt, the faster bad (or good) things will happen, which put more emotional stress on your brain. Its easier to cope emotionally with hands like this one, if there is at least some spacing in time between them.

It happens with every player, the difference is how to handle it. As you improve you will be able to handle it better.

You also have to accept that you are going to tilt. The idea is not to remove Tilt, but to recognise it and remove the majority of its effects. So like a lot of things, part of its power is removed when you learn to accept it!

I recently discovered that I don't need to do raises bigger than 2.5BB at preflop. In most cases I do only 2BB and its more than enough. At postflop I tend to give preference to bet 33% of the pot, because in many cases this seems to be very good cost-benefit bet size as you can keep the pot small in case you loose, and increase its value at the same time in case you win. If you miss the flop, just check might be the best option in many cases, instead of try and bluff with c-bets. All these concepts results in less chips lost to bad beats, risk control, so less tilt.

Make focusing on proper bankroll management a priority until you learn to control your emotions & expectations.
