Hey CardChat family! 👋
I wanted to ask you all a question that’s been on my mind lately: how do you personally deal with failure in poker? 🎲 Because let’s be honest – no matter how good we are, bad sessions and tough beats happen to everyone.
For me, I’ve noticed something important. When I lose a big hand or bust from a tournament I really cared about, the worst thing I can do is just keep playing. 😅 Usually, that only makes things worse. Instead, I try to step back and take a break. 🚶♂️
Sometimes I go for a walk, sometimes I just chill with some music 🎧, but most of all, I focus on studying more than playing. 📚 I watch hand reviews, read strategy posts, or even replay my own hands to see what I could have done differently. It keeps my mind busy and stops me from tilting.
Because honestly, after a failure, if I jump back into the game too quickly, I tend to play worse. My decisions aren’t sharp, and the losses just stack up. ❌ That’s why I believe recovery and learning are more valuable than grinding when emotions are high.
So, what about you guys? 👉 Do you push through and keep playing, or do you take breaks like I do? Any tips or routines that help you bounce back after a tough session?
Let’s share and help each other grow. 💪❤️
