I’ve been thinking about how important it is to track our poker progress outside of the actual tables. Some players use Apps to review hands, some take notes after every session, and others just rely on memory. Personally, I’ve noticed that when I write down key hands or mistakes after a session, it helps me spot leaks faster and improves my discipline.

Do you guys keep track of your sessions or study habits in any way? Maybe using spreadsheets, hand history reviews, or even journaling? I’d love to hear what methods work best for you.

The poker player's journey is hard and thorny... Factorials and integrals are indispensable...)))

Yes, I have been keeping records and tracking overall statistics to see at which stages there are more failures or in which formats. Based on this, I conduct a deeper analysis. However, I believe that everyone does it in their own way because attitudes towards gaming are different for everyone. Some play for fun, while others see it as an additional source of income...

You need to live in such a way that it does not hurt painfully for years you have lived aimlessly! A person makes mistakes, and that's half the problem... The main thing is that he does them all the time! )))

I also track my sessions, usually with notes and a simple spreadsheet. Writing down key hands really helps me improve and stay disciplined.

Great question! I definitely believe that tracking progress off the tables is one of the most underrated parts of poker improvement. I personally use Hand2Note to review my marked hands and go through situations where I felt uncertain. Having those hand histories organized helps me spot recurring leaks in my strategy and gives me a clearer idea of what to focus on in my study sessions.

Besides that, I also like to keep short notes after each session. Nothing too long, just a few lines about the toughest spots I faced and how I felt during the session. Writing it down helps me notice mindset patterns, like when I tend to play more aggressively or too passively depending on tilt or fatigue. It really complements the technical review.

It’s cool to hear that tracking helps your discipline too. I’ve had the same experience — when I take the time to analyze instead of just moving on to the next session, I improve faster and avoid repeating the same mistakes. Do you usually focus more on technical notes or mental game reflections?

I usually make a mental plan of how I'm going to play the tournament and see myself at the final table
